I think the chinese chart thingy is a load of rubbish!
It says that my ds1 should have been a girl.
Also, how do they explain girl/boy twins?!
The needle thing says 2 boys & then a girl for me too.
I have 2 boys, but my H has had a vasectomy, so I hope it is not right, or I will have a lot of explaining to do!!!

blueteddy · 05/06/2005 20:39

BTW both charts say ds1 should have been a girl!
The 1st chart makes ds2 a boy, but the 2nd one makes him a girl!!!

AnotherHelen · 05/06/2005 21:16

yes blueteddy - they are a bit daft i suppose but its just a bit of fun, most of them are wrong for one or both of mine too! as for the quiz that says i have a 90% chance of having a girl! i hope so! we'll see! xxx

AnotherHelen - speaking as another mum of 2 boys (and who is expecting her 3rd boy in 3 weeks) - you do know the odds of another one dont you???? Just dont want you to get your hopes up for a girl (as i did before i found out) and was a bit dissapointed at the time. I would advise you to find out at your 20 wk scan - i did and am soooooo ok with it now

VirtualFairy · 05/06/2005 23:59

try this one - make sure you work out lunar conception month and lunar age
chinese gender

worked for all mine and eveyone else i tryed - about 8 family and friends.

hunkermunker · 06/06/2005 00:06

VF, from that one, I'm having a girl too.

And I don't get the carrying the weight out the front bit - where else do pregnant ladies carry their babies?!

AnotherHelen · 06/06/2005 11:50

Tessiebear what are the odds?? stacked against me i bet!! lol! i already had my 20 week scan and didnt ask but im beggining to wish i had! at least like you i would have some time to get used to the idea! Virtualfairy i tried that chinese chart with the lunar age thingy ive never heard of that one! - still says im having a girl! who knows! im not girl mad or anything! i think boys are fantastic too!! xxx

75% likely to have another same sex apparently!!!!!

Tessiebear · 06/06/2005 15:05

all the charts say i am having a girl this time (I am DEFINATELY not btw)

teuch · 06/06/2005 15:28

what is the needle thing?

AnotherHelen · 06/06/2005 17:12

teuch: you have to hang a needle (sewing needle usually) from a peice of string (some people use there engagement/wedding ring - it doesnt really matter) over your pregnant tummy - i happened to have someone does this for me years ago long before i had my first baby and she said if ur not pregnant you can hang it over the open palm of your hand! - now i was told when doing it over your hand you simply let it hang there and after a second or two it will do something - either swing forwards and backwards/side to side (however you look at it) or it will go round in circle's - if it goes forwards and backwards its signifies a girl and if it goes round and round its a boy! Place the needle dangling against the side of your hand and then slowly and carefully drag it to the middle of your palm, then slowly raise it so its hanging about 2 inches from your hand.
As for the pregnant tummy bit its pretty much the same only over your tummy! - and you can do a quick test first to no what means yes and what means no ie: ask the needle 'am i pregnant (something u know the answer will be yes to) and then again to a 'no' question so you know what the needle will do to say yes or no, THEN ask the needle am i having a boy? - wait for an answer and so on...... I really dont hang great beliefs in this! - its just a bit of fun! but i have to admit i like to keep an open mind!!! i have had both tests done MANY times and it has always said the same thing never anything different!! after it tells me my third child will be a boy the needle has always stopped and would never do anything else no matter who was doing the test!! - so im pretty sure 3 is supposed to be my lot! - its abit strange! - sorry such a long message! xxxx

I tried these charts and they were both right, I was 23 when I concieved last May and I had my DS in February

Newbarnsleygirl · 06/06/2005 17:15

It was right for me.

blueteddy · 06/06/2005 17:22

I was led to believe that when the needle/ring went backwards & forwards it meant a boy & round in circles meant a girl.
If the opposite is true (circles - boy & backwards & forwards - girl) then both ds1 & ds2 should have been girls according to that test!

starlover · 06/06/2005 17:24

they both say i should have had a girl. WRONG

tbh.. i think it's a load of rubbish. they always have 50% chance of getting it right!

Janh · 06/06/2005 17:56

At least they don't charge you for the rubbish though, starlover! I have heard (dunno if it's true) of someone who has/had a small ad in one of the Parenting mags, "I will predict your baby's sex for £5 or your money back" - says same sex for all of them, gets to keep half the money!

(Think it's a joke really. But anyway I agree with you, tis a load of rubbish )

starlover · 06/06/2005 17:57

oooh... now there's an idea!

AnotherHelen · 06/06/2005 18:20

Really blueteddy!! LOL!!!! it IS highly likely i have it the wrong way around!! i have bad scrambled brain at the minute!!

both charts were right on the first and wrong on the second.
