Dear WorriedCharlotte I didn't want to leave your post unanswered. Please try not to worry- there'll more than likely be a perfectly harmless reason for your slight bleed. Of course blood is always stressful and this is your first pregnancy after all!

My question to you is have you had a scan yet?

Why don't you give your mw a ring and ask for her advice. Don't worry: that's what she's there for.

Let us know how you get on.

Agree with jardins, if you're ever thinking 'should I ring my MW to check', ring Hope everything's OK

WorriedCharlotte I had something very similar starting just after a normal 12 week scan. Carried on (on and off) for 3-4 weeks then just stopped.

As the others have said I'd call the midwife, and if you don't routinely get 12 week scans in your area perhaps you could arrange one. But it is fairly common for women to have some bleeding and go onto have successful outcomes so don't assume the worst. Good luck.

I had bleeding at 12 weeks with my first bub too though it was VERY heavy, i was sure i was miscarring but was plesently suprised when i had a scan that baby was just fine, doctor explained that at about 12weeks with first pregnancy is when ur uterus is to big to fit in ur pelvis and this can sometimes cause some bleeding. best of luck to you

I've had bleeding with two of my pregnancies both of which were fine. It is scary but try not to worry as for every time you hear someone has had a miscarriage with bleeding there will be many more who have had bleeding that have gone on to have babies without problem. You'll need to arrange a scan to put your mind at rest

I had this happen just before my first scan and went into panic mode. After being examined I was told I had cervical errosion. Which is quite common in pregnancy.

Try not to worry am sure it will all be okay
