Get some vitamin E capsules, bite them open or poke a hole in with a pin and slather on the oil. Helps to reabsorb the blood in the haemorrhoids.

Also, buy some witch hazel, put it in the fridge so it's nice and cold, pour some on a gauze pad and tuck it over the haemorrhoids. It's an astringent so it will help shrink them down.

Aloe vera gel straight from the plant helps too.

Thanks - I'll give it a go!

You can use the vitamin E oil and the witch hazel pad at the same time.

This is what helped me with the worst case of haemorrhoids in the free world after giving birth to DS. They were like a cluster of huge grapes. (Sorry, TMI.)

Good luck with baby!!

I used Anusol which worked eventually although I was using it for about a month before they went. Also been using Movicol from the Doc to keep things moving. Been OK now for last 3 months and the piles haven't come back.

Meant to say, you need the suppository - creams are no good.

Also make sure you keep the area really clean, but with aqueous cream rather than soap. This at least helps cut down on the itching.

Could also try applying bepanthen every time you go to the toilet, and only use moist toilet paper.
