X-posted as I need some successful ttc-ers' advice please.

My lost pregnancy bleeding has stopped and I have just ovulated according to test I used. Time is of the essence due to my age (44) and strictly speaking, I know I should lay off sex for another week, but I don't want to miss this highly fertile time as took ages to conceive our last child. Plus I only ever manage to get pregnant at this time of year and it took nearly a year for my cycle to get right after mc between DC2 and DC3.

But, is there any point in trying to conceive if I have just been bleeding as there may not be anything there to implant into?

No lectures on giving my body a rest please, I have made up my mind!

Hi, i know how you feel as I have experienced a similar thing. I had a mc in december last year and concieved again without having a period but sadly I lost that baby too. I would say go for it as it could be the only chance you get for a while if thats how your body works. I have read many people have concieved straight away and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy. Do what ever you feel is best for you, Good Luck xx

Despite medical advice to wait 2 months after my MMC in March we decided to go for it straight away too. Time was of the essence as I am 40 and did not want to waste any more time. I am now 20 weeks pregnant (so it's a keeper) and fell pregnant 1 cycle after miscarriage.

Good luck.

Thanks. Have been told though that the ovulation test will be incorrect if I still have pregnancy hormones in my body. That's true isn't it?

yes it will you need a neg pregnancy test to show you have no hormones in your system left from your mc , good luck

I had one period between mc and getting pregnant with DS. I was 39.

I asked my dr something like this, his advice was..."you wont get pg if ur body isnt ready". On reflection this is very true, as long as you are mentally ready to try again go for it. Good luck.

Do it, lifes too short, no matter what age you are IMO

I mc'd on 25th May, hardly bled that much and tried again straight away as my body went back to "normal" almost instantly, never had a period in between and got pg straight away. Im 14 weeks now and worked out that we conceived on 6th June, so literally a week later. All is well, scan was perfect and I even think I felt some sort of flutter this morning .

I defo agree that after an mc you are super fertile, but I didnt really think it would happen as easy as it did, but it can...

You sound ready, and theres no medical reason not to, so get cracking
