Boy or girl? Old wives tales!

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone was told old wives tales whilst they were pregnant that turned out to be correct? Do you think there is any truth in them?? Im 27 weeks and am told so many things from different people, 'its definately a boy because of your bump', 'its definately a girl, you can tell form the back' 'if your craving that its definately a girl' . . . . the list goes on!!!! I know its just a bit of fun but was wondering if anyones mystic old wives predictions turned out to be true

My older sister did the wedding ring trick on my little sister and predicted she was having a boy.......and she was right!!

I had horrible morning sickness with first pregnancy and was told 'that means it's a boy' - correct

Horrible and longlasting sickness again and have been told 'it's a boy' and also 'you're always bad with a change - it's a girl' Will just have to wait and see!

will be watching with interest! At 21 weeks have got an all out the front bump possibly indicating a boy but all my cravings are for sweet creamy things at the moment (esp M&S strawberry milk, mmmm!)

I was told DS would be a boy because I had a small neat bump, and I was told DD would be a girl because my face had changed shape (think this was someone trying to politely tell me it had got fatter!)

I got told all kinds of things, including a woman at the hairdresser who told me that I was definitely expecting a girl because I had put weight on my hips and bum (I hadn't )

In contrast to what KittyTN was told, a lot of people told me I must be expecting a girl because I had really bad morning sickness. I also had heartburn and was told my baby would have a full head of hair. Well she turned out to be a girl but was bald as a coot until about 6 months

I think my legs were less hairy during my most recent pregnancy. And my eczema got worse. I had a girl after twin boys. Mind you, the boys are so old now I've forgotten the precise condition of my leg hair and skin while I was pregnant with them!

Yeah, ive heard loads on the hair on your legs thing?? Thought if you had less hair than before it was a boy since all yuor testosertone was going to the baby??!!!

The fast/slow heartbeat thing.....worked for all mine

Is it a fast heartbeat if its a girl and slow if its a boy?

If the heartbeat thing is true then my DD changed from a girl to a boy (or the other way around)

I was told by people that I was definitely having a boy each time because I carried all out front with all of them but DC3 is a girl... I think its just the way I carry!

For me there were HUGE differences between the pgs with the DSs and DD the main ones were:

Nausea - far worse and longer lasting with DD

Cravings - nothing specific but had more of a liking for sweet things with DD

Emotions - the biggest difference for me, I was incredibly emotional when carrying DD, up...down...all over the place really! Never had that with the boys. My neighbour was also very emotional with her DD but not so with her DS so don't know if there's anything in that!
