Just hoping someone might have some expertise or experience o this. Since 35 weeks I have had small episodes of bleeding, for 2-3 hours once a week. Its never very much and is always at night/early hours. my placenta was low but has moved up so doctor not concerned about that. They have no idea where it is coming from and can't offer any explanation.

Any ideas?

cervical erosion? I bled throughout my pg with ds (well, a few times every week), and was eventually diagnosed. It's totally benign.

I would push them for an explanation and if they cannot give you one, ask for the baby to be delivered. I had both mine delivered at 37 weeks for other complications, but you are just days off term so I don't see why they can't induce you now if there is no explanation.
