Hello
I went for my 20 week scan today (I am 20 weeks and 2 days) and was told that they are 70% sure I am having a girl.
When I asked the sonographer if we could find out the sex she said 'maybe but I may not be able to tell'. I was under the impression it was pretty obvious by 20 weeks. When I had my first child they were pretty definate at telling me she was a girl and I was kind of expecting the same thing to happen this time round My scans have been at different hospitals - Im not sure if this makes a difference.
I was in there for ages as she couldnt get the baby to get in the right position for a profile shot of its face so would have thought as we were there for so long she would have had more opportunity to assess what I was having. At the end when I asked her what I was having she said 'I didnt see any boy bits, Id say I am 70% sure its a girl but dont buy any dresses as I am not sure'!.
Whilst I am obviously thrilled that the baby appears healthy and normal, I am a little disappointed at not having a more definate answer. I dont want to get excited about having a girl only to have a boy or vice versa!
Has anyone else had experience of these kind of statistics? What was the outcome?
