If it's any help I pushed out an 11lb 12oz-er at home.

Was it the same MW as you normally see? How were you measuring at your last appointment and how long ago was it? Do you feel as though this DC is bigger than your DS?

DD was always on the larger end of the scale, but then neither DH nor I were small at birth so we weren't expecting a tiddler!

Try not to worry too much at the moment - measuring a bump to estimate baby size is very innacurate and depends a lot on how the baby is lying, where they measure to and from, how tight they pull the tape.... Ultrasound is equally innacurate, unfortunately, especially on a one off scan - one study found US mis-estimated baby size by 500g, which is over 1lb!

Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions and remember that you can refuse any offers of tests and treatments you feel uncomfortable with (not saying you should, but I found it very empowering to remember that I could). You might want to find out how your care will be handled differently with different results and why there will be those differences - sometimes the answer is that there isn't really any difference, so why go through the stress of the test?

There's some more information here.

Fingers crossed things don't get too fraught for you
