Im 39 weeks and expecting my 5th baby. My youngest is now 14 years old so have had a big age gap. I was wondering will it be like a first birth as its been so long or will my body just go into auto mod and remember what to do? My 4th child was born very quickly within 45 minutes of my waters breaking and contractions starting, so will this one be the same or will it be like my first again 18 hours. Also whats the likely hood of going over due this is a big baby according to scans she is already 9 1/2 lb my last child was 8lb and 3 weeks early.

Hi loganberry,

I had a 7 year gap between my last 2 and he was the quickest labour I had 1st child 4.5 hours 2nd child 2.55mins 3rd child 1.50 mins and 4th 1hr I was worried as it had been a while but I just remebered what to do instinct takes over, But you have to remeber each pregnancy is different so it could be quick but then again it could be slow, as for being on time mine was a week early and took us all by shock all the others were late! Goodluck it will all be fine you will see.

Mine were all born in 4 years so no good for age gaps but my third baby was born a lot quicker than my second.

I have an eleven year age gap between my middle and youngest, rumour has it that your third labour is unpredictable (it was my third) and it was my longest but not my most uncomfortable labour. I think your body does remember though,no matter the age gap.

Have no idea about late or early....mine have all been late, less late the more pregnancies.

Good luck,i have really enjoyed going back to babyhood after such a long gap.
