Head Engaged??

I'm nearly 37 weeks with my second DC and went to Doc today and she said that she thought the head might be engaged. Yesterday I had a ton of pressure and was hobbling for a few hours with the discomfort and shooting pain of it but yesterday evening it lifted and today I don't have THAT much pressure. my neighbour is 34 weeks with her third and got the same news from the doctor and she says it feels like she has a balloon between her legs ALL the time. I thought the head only became engaged early in the first pregnancy so whats the deal? and what does it mean if the head is engaged early???

The head can bob in out for ages before delivery.

I was engaged with No2 at 34 weeks and then went a week over due.

The shocking, stabbing pains aren't much fun.

With DS (2nd pg) his head was in and out, in and out up to and during labour. It was difficult to push him out because he kept bobbing up and down. During one of the internals, MW said she could push his head back up which was probably why I couldn't get him out myself.

Don't think it means anything if the head is engaged tbh. I was 12 days over with one and 11 days with the other. With DD her head was engaged quite early on.
