Help...is this labour starting?

Hi since sat evening i have been a bit uncomfortable and for the last hour or so i have had really bad back pain that feels like period pains and i just went to toilet and there was yellow sort of see through stuff on the toilet roll...im 34+4 btw with dc2.

May be but not necessarily - the back pain and cramping is a strong sign. The 'show' can come many days before labour.

I am sorry I do not know the answer, but did not want it to go unnoticed, hopefully some-one with more experience will be able to come along.

I would say that if you are at all concerned, call your midwife or the labour ward for some advice.

So probably a good idea to phone midwife then? Had midwife earlier and told her bout pains and she said to monitor them but pretty painful now feel like awful period pains. Just worried that im starting to loose my plug

if you are 34 + 4 which is classed as prem, with bad pains and possibly a show, i would insist on being monitored to ensure it is not labour, or if it is ,to be admitted..

i would call back now and ask to be seen

Yes, call for some advice. If all is well they will reassure you, if you need to be checked, they can advise.

Could be - sounds bit like start of my labour. Would call hospitL or midwife

I am 36 weeks and have been like this since 32 weeks on and off!
It may be worth a call to the mw as they may want to have you in for monitoring and check for any infections.

Like they told me it is better to go and there be nothing wrong than have something wrong and keep it to yourself x

Hey guys well i phoned them and went in for monitoring. I wasn contracting and have no signs of urine infection or anything. They dont know what it was been sent home with instructions to take paracetamol. Didn seem too bothered about my possible show. Looks like im in for a long 5 weeks of waiting! Still in pain but dunno what it is so not bothered...apparently my uterus is nice and relaxed lol! Shame was looking forward to meeting dc2! Only 5 weeks to wait!

glad everything is ok franfoxy. Get that bag packed just in case though, sounds like your body is getting ready !

I had pains like you when i was 39 weeks and i was in early labour, i was in early labour for a week and full labour for 15 hours. you will no when u go into labour.

What your haveing sounds very similar to wjat i was haveing when i was in early labour.

glad all is ok, don't rush it, it is too early! another 3 weeks then you can start wishing! rest up and hope you feel better soon x

Hey. Well pains have eased off today thank god. Saw my consultant today for first time cos i have gd and she said about inducing me in about 3 weeks. Have a growth scan on thursday well excited. Might actually find out the sex if baby is being good and sonographer is in a good mood lol!
