Do sonographers record somewhere on your notes if you are having a boy/girl?

Er, that's it really! Just curious!

Nope, not unless you ask to know the sex.

madmissy · 29/07/2009 19:53

no not unless your hospital policy is that they do tell you.

mine do not and they do not record it anywhere

I don't think they even check the gender unless you ask them to.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 29/07/2009 19:54

no, even if they tell you

Thanks all. I did mean if you have asked them to tell you the sex, afterwards, do they mark what sex it is on your notes somewhere.

No, even if they tell you they cannot be 100% sure so to write it in your notes would open them up to all sorts of trouble in the instances they got it wrong.

When I had my 20 wk scan there is something on the print out along with the measurements etc that records whether or not the genitals are nomal. As we didn't find out the sex this part was left blank, but would assume it would be filled in with something that indicates the sex if you chose to find out.
