If I remember rightly, I heard dd's hearbeat at about 12 weeks too. I saw it on a scan at 8 weeks though.

I heard it at 11 weeks but it's not definite you will even then. Midwife told me not to panic if she couldn't find it.

Your uterus doesnt rise up above your pelvic bone usually till 12 weeks. so the dr wont try unless he can feel your top of your uterus(which is unlikely at this stage) and if you see the m/w she probably wont attempt to listen for it till at least 12 weeks(because so many people get worried when they cant hear it, so they like to wait till theres a good chance they will)
-dont worry the next few weeks will fly by and at least you've seen your baby on the scan and saw everything was ok. x hth

I didn't hear mine when I went for midwife appt at 13-14 weeks and she tried to find it for ages. I was quite upset to be honest, was sure baby had died. Got to hear it first at 15 weeks which was a big relief!

Hi Minnie1, My sister is 9 wks pregnant and was in hospital due to severe vomiting at 7/8 wks. She didnt get to hear the heartbeat but she saw it on the scan. She was told that she would'nt hear it until at least 12wks depending on position of baby, but at least she was reasurred when she saw it on the scan. Good luck to you.

I heard mine at 12 weeks, but midwife did say that she might not be able to find it.

saw it on a scan at 6 weeks though!

I heard my bump (am 26 weeks now) at just over 9 weeks. We thought I was further along than that, though, or else she never would have tried (she did put quite an effort into finding it). The Dr. was very surprised that we could hear it after we found out through a scan that I actually was about 13 days behind what I thought I was. But I didn't hear DS's until 12 weeks.

I heard my baby's at 16 weeks but apparently my uterus tilts backwards (or something similarly un-coordinated!) so the midwife didn't even try until then - I just kept having lots of scans which gave me the reassurance I needed. Good luck.

I had a scan when I was 8 weeks and heard baby's heart beat loud and clear! It was something like 140 bpm (if my memory serves me correct).

Not sure from what week specifically you can here the beat.

Sorry - I'm no help

Bami
