with my boys never thought either or, with this one ad very strong feeling we were having a girl and 3 scans have confirmed it

BikeRunSki · 28/07/2009 20:55

I KNEW. Didn't want to find out at 20 week scan, because I wouldn't have believed the sonographer. Turns put we were both right (me and sonographer (boy)). Was a boy, we didn't even have a girl's name lined up.

beautifulgirls · 28/07/2009 21:43

I was certain both times I would have a boy...both times I had a girl. I am not even bothering to try and predict this time!!

Claire2009 · 28/07/2009 21:45

No!

Was sure I was having a boy, 22wk scan revealed I was having a girl!

IdrisTheDragon · 28/07/2009 21:46

I was certain I was having a girl with my first pregnancy.

Out came DS.

I was certain I was having another boy with my second pregnancy.

Out came DD.

I am not good at predicting what I am having lol

DjangoTheDjinn · 28/07/2009 21:50

I only ever dreamt I would have a girl. Sure enough a girl. Don't know that it meant anything though.

rockinghertosleep · 28/07/2009 21:52

Knew within a day of learning I was pregnant that she'd be a girl, have loads of dark hair and be born early....

16 week scan DH asked and was told that there was a bit of something between the legs which could either be the cord or wee boy parts, sonographer therefore guessed boy...I spent 3 weeks trying to reconcile that idea whilst still calling my bump a girls name and not believing it...

20 week scan, different sonographer, better angle..definitely a Girl!

At birth - a girl, with loads of dark hair, born at 37 weeks...

seeker · 28/07/2009 21:53

I was convinced I was having a boy. Had a late scan - saw a willy and balls and all. Grace was born 7 days later!

seeker · 28/07/2009 21:54

He's cool about being called Grace - I love unusual names!

2greatboys · 29/07/2009 08:36

I knew with both my preganancies that I was having DSs, but never found at at the scans. With DS2 everyone kept telling me they though I was carrying a girl, but I was convinced a boy and was right. I even packed a cute little blue outfit in my hospital bag with DS1.

plimple · 29/07/2009 08:46

I knew my dc1 was a boy.
So much so that when dc was born I thought there was something wrong with him as he didn't have a willy!
8-10 weeks to go til I find out what dc2 will be and I'm deliberately not guessing since I'l clearly get it wrong. Tempted to find out at scan, but want to wait and see.

Rindercella · 29/07/2009 09:58

I knew absolutely definitely 100% sure that DD was a girl. And I was right . So many people - including strangers - would tell me what I was having. I would just smile sweetly at whatever they said, safe in the knowledge that I would be having a little girl.

ROFL @ seeker's DS Grace

Longtalljosie · 29/07/2009 10:16

For the first 12 weeks I was convinced it was a girl.

From weeks 13-20 was convinced it was a boy.

It's a girl.

So if I wanted to be revisionist about it I could have claimed to have "known" with either result.

My bump is quite neat so people keep coming up and telling me it's a boy though. I'm guessing the consultant knows best though.

WinkyWinkola · 29/07/2009 10:34

Yes. I knew DS (4) was a boy. I knew this baby (due Oct) is a boy mostly because the pregnancy was exactly the same i.e. grim as with DS1.

With DD (2), I wasn't sure at all which. Was frightened when I found out at a scan.

PresidentTaylor · 29/07/2009 10:57

I have 3 DCs (2DDs and a DS) and knew every time. Didn't find out at scans but had a strong feeling. Nothing to do with bump shape, cravings, differences between pregnancies. It was just a strong feeling. I never felt that way until after the 4 or 5 month mark each time though. Obviously I could never have felt it 100% but would have been so surprised each time if it had been the other gender. Had a name decided each time for the 'correct' sex but never completely decided on the name for the opposite sex.

kitstwins · 29/07/2009 13:12

Only had one (twin) pregnancy so can't really comment on feeling different but I was CONVINCED I was having boys. Or at least one boy. I would have bet my house on it. All the old wives' tales were true - craved salty, spicy foods; very high, neat bump; dreamt about baby boys, etc.,etc. I had a very strong feeling about it. So when an old man shouted "you're having a girl" at me when I was at Earls Court tube station I felt really irritated. I WASN'T having a girl and I was having TWO babies!!! Fool!

We didn't find out as we wanted it to be a surprise but a further nod to it being boys was an emergency scan during an early labour scare when a registrar cheerfully announced "both boys look fine in there" whilst I tried to digest the rather crushing fact that she'd just ruined the suprise. After that I took it as pretty certain that I'd get at least one boy.

Naturally I had two daughters so I'm glad I didn't bet the house on it after all. Intuition is just a load of old bunk - you've got a 50% chance of getting it right. The people who get it wrong and the poeple who get it right are all just as convinced as one another that their intuition is spot on - it's just that some will guess right and others wont so some will be able to congratulate themselves on their maternal intuition whilst others will sit there in total bemusement at how their predictions were 100% out.

Wouldn't even try to guess if I'm ever lucky enough to get a next time.

verytiredmummy · 29/07/2009 15:08

I 'knew' I was having a boy last time. Even though I carried very high and lots of people told me it was a girl, I was always convinced. After our 20 week scan (we didn't find out) we went to Mothercare to buy a babygro - the first thing we'd bought for the baby. It was BOGOF and we hadn't realised so when we got to the till, I rushed back to the display and just grabbed one that looked nice - it was blue.

This time I'm not sure. My pregnancy has been very different right from the start so I'm inclined to think it's a girl. But when I imagine the baby I always imagine a little boy. So who knows!

Chinese gender whatsit says this one is a boy, but it also says my son should be a girl!

MrsMattie · 29/07/2009 19:43

I had no clue, really, but everyone thought I was having a boy with my DS and a girl with my DD. It was like the whole world was right, and I was just the clueless wench incubating the babies . Very different pregnancies, too.

nknight85 · 29/07/2009 19:48

I new straight away i was having a boy first time around, just instinct, and he was. But this time i thought i new straight away that i was having a girl, i am 13weeks pregant and now i think i am having a boy. so a little confused. lol

cece · 29/07/2009 19:55

No idea with any of them.

PrefetParfait · 29/07/2009 19:56

I "knew" that DD3 was going to be called Joshua.....

nknight85 · 29/07/2009 20:25

for my first i didnt having morning sickness until after 12weeks and there wasnt much of it, just felt sick put off some foods, only sick once, i didnt get a bump until i was 6months, and it was rounded and low, didnt really have much cravings. 13 weeks preg now and my sickness started at 5 weeks still going strong, put loads of weight on my tummy, hips and waste, very spotty, feel tired all the time, and dont feel attractive, very emotional, and angry, also get headachs, thats why i assumed it was a girl, but i feel its a boy now, every pregnancy's differnt.

magnummum · 30/07/2009 20:33

I "knew" both times. First time round had dd1 and knew she was a girl. Second time was convinced it was twins (told after a scan there was only one baby), second scan showed the second baby. Told my DH we were having one of each which in fact we did! Just a really strong feeling both times

woodhj · 30/07/2009 21:21

We found out we were having a girl at scan, the only thing i noticed was my body hair seemed to stop growing didnt get waxed for months.
When she was born went back to normal. With a boy you are suppose to get a thicker growth. Not finding out with this pregnancy so keep checking out the growth.
