Frustratingly I've always had bloodcounts on the low side [this is my 3rd pg, am now 15.5 weeks]. Never low enough to warrant 'proper' intervention, though.

I have been SO SO TIRED, and find it so miserable that the MWs look at my numbers which are 'ok, if on the low side' and give me diet advise.

This time I've been taking Floradix twice a day, almost from 5 or so weeks in. HB at about 8weeks was 12.5; ferritin 46 MCV 75.

GRRRRR

I'm trying to eat well.
This was just a moan. Anyone else? Any other tips/ advise? should i have more bloods done eg??? O yes and joy, now have UTI.

Hi, have you ever tried taking spatone??

Its reputed to be the best iron supplement for absorbtion in pregnancy without the horrible side effects. You can buy it in boots.

Laying bets I'm not the only person to suggest it...

Are you me? I have borderline low iron and i'm just recovering from a nasty UTI - and the antib's for that gave me thrush!!

I too second Spatone, and if you can get to a herbalists, some cranberry capsules to help fight off the UTI.

Hope you feel better soon x
