I have a boy, 15 months, and just had a BFP. A few people have already said that it would be a girl, not sure why! Is there a myth that if you have a boy first then a girl follows or is this just nonsense?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not in my family - my sister and stepsister have both had two boys. I am convinced that if I ever have another one it'll be another boy!

midnightexpress · 22/07/2009 14:39

It's nonsense. I've got two boys.

blametheparents · 22/07/2009 14:41

People say that because they think it is what you want to hear, ie a boy and a girl
There are loads and loads of families with 2 boys / 2 girls.
Surely you must know loads yourself?

flowerybeanbag · 22/07/2009 14:41

Nonsense. I know loads of people who have two of the same gender, myself included, currently pg with DS2.

rubyslippers · 22/07/2009 14:48

i think people assume (rightly or wrongly) that if you have a boy you must want a girl second time around so say it on this basis?

i am PG with DC2 and no idea what i am having - DS thinks it is a girl!

Two boys here as well

LuluMaman · 22/07/2009 14:51

i know slightly more people with a boy then a girl, but lots with two of the same gender

people have got 50 % chance of being right !

francagoestohollywood · 22/07/2009 14:59

It is a myth. Apparently it is "easier" to have children of the same gender.
