Can you choose your consultant?

We are TTC no 3, DC no 2 ended up a CS (DC 1 was an assisted delivery). If we are lucky enough to get pregnant with a DC3 can you "choose" a consulant at a different hospital to where you went before?

I recently had a procedure using my works private medical insurance and met the most wonderful consultant who works at an NHS hospital part time. If I am lucky to conceive again I would love to book an elective section with this consultant but is it possible?
I would phone the hospital but feel ridiculous as I'm not even pregnant!

With my last pregnancy I was told by my GP that I had to go to a specific hospital etc but I phoned up my old consultant and said I wanted to be seen by him again. He told me to get my GP to fax the paperwork through to him and he'd be happy to see me. I wasn't even in the same region as I'd moved but he was still happy to take me on.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Thanks BB, thats really positive that I can do the same. However Ive just found out the consultant no longer works in the NHS hospital but at least I can look into other good consultants or get him to recommend me one.
