May be a stupid question, but...

...is it safe to eat homemade meringue when you are pregnant?

I have tried googling but it seems to be fairly evenly split between "what, are you trying to kill your baby?!!! it's uncooked egg you fool!!!" and "of course it is, it has been cooked for 2 hours you fool" and I am now really confused

meringues are cooked

mousse is not cooked

meringues are cooked and made with egg white which is believe (not sure though so dont sue me) is less harmful than the yolk or maybe I am just thinking that because we can't have runny yolk.

Whites are the dodgy part, but meringues are cooked, so it's fine
