A Positive Pregnancy Test, but not pregnant...

Had an unbelievably faint line on an ebay cheapy this morning, but after 2 miscarriages and a BFP then period two days later, in the last 8 months I am not believing I'm pregnant for a good long time. Have not even told my husband about the positive test this morning as it just feels that a baby is a hugely long way off, if it happens at all.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I've had the same, in a different order and over 11 months (one pregnancy lasted nearly 12 weeks). Testing tomorrow because the recurrent mc clinic told me to test as soon as poss and let them know as early as I can so they can plan treatment.

Whatever the result, I'm not telling DP for a good few days. Terrified of being let down by a BFN, terrified of the emotional rollercoaster, obsessive knicker checking and worry that a BFP will bring

So, to cut a long story short, I reckon everyone in our situation would feel the same

thanks for replying Joolsiam. Can't get my head round congratulations yet, as am still sort of waiting for my period to show up. Sorry you've been through similar experiences. One of my miscarriages was at 12 weeks and needed erpc as was suspected molar preg (wasn't, thank Goodness). Your mc clinic sound good, what sort of treatment will you get?

Do you have any children already?

Wishing you big luck tomorrow - will you let me know the result?

Ah yes, this has happened to me. I had 2 faint positives, then period turned up 2 days later.

I NEVER feel trust in these things, and after 4 mcs, i wont allow myself to feel excited, like normal people do when i get a positive.
I do feel completely robbed of it though.

The mc clinic is a local one - saw me within 6 weeks of the third MC. Saw a consultants lackey who could barely string a sentence together and thought thank gawd for all the info on here ! Had a whole battery of blood tests, some genetic tests done on DP's blood aswell. I have to go back tomorrow for repeat tests on hormone levels and my official appointment to discuss results is July 29th. However, I've been told that if I get a BFP before then, they will get a consultant to check my results and give me a treatment plan there and then - lovely EPU nurse - I could have hugged her

I know you can't get your head round congratulations yet - I couldn't last time and was right not to as it ended before 6 weeks. It should be a happy event though ...

Sunburnt - I know what you mean. I feel envious of women who've never had mc who tell everyone at the first sign of a BFP and have NO IDEA of the sadness and trauma mc causes - and then it usually goes swimmingly for them

Occasionally I feel, well I might as well enjoy this while I am pregnant, no matter what may happen tomorrow. And, admittedly better to see that faint line than no line at all IYSWIM??

Thank you Yorky. Had to complete a health form for work today and one question said 'could you be pregnant?' ~So had to answer yes... bit weird to be telling the occupational health dept before your own husband!

Will do another test in the morning and show my husband if still positive.

I must admit, I'm getting more and more scared of testing tomorrow - can't face the disappointment of a BFN, terrified of a BFP I may yet wimp out as I'm starting to doubt myself - no nausea since I've got home from work, boobs don't seem to be inflated or sore ...

I'll just check myself in to an asylum for around 8 months !

yes, but as you well know a neg result does not nec mean you are not pregnant. Could you bear to wait until your period is due (or is that just a foolish suggestion .

really best of luck tomorrow, either way.

also, i've got no nausea, indigestion or sore breasts - no symptoms at all, which adds to the unreality of the BFP

I don't want to get your hopes up but I had no symptoms with DS, if I hadn't known when I was due I wouldn't have guessed for ages
Did you tell your DH last night LuckyPants?

I did test - BFN but still feel nauseous, so who knows ! Only 9DPO according to Fertility Friend, so maybe too early - I guess I'll just have to be patient and prepare myself for the worst ...

Tested with a FR first morning wee and it was negative!!? have just rung the helpline and they were very surprised as was same batch as my bfp on monday. Think it is bad news and my period is about to start - fairly resigned... my luckypants are obviously not working this morning

9 dpo Jools means you're still in with a good chance.

Hi folks,

Just wanted to add a message. AF was due two days ago (tues and never came) I got the faintest BFP line about 4 days ago and been testing everyday since with clearblue and the lines got a bit darker everyday altho not as dark as the - line(not preg line) Its the cross ones (- sign for not preg and + sign if preg. I tested this morning and the line was fainter than yesterday using FMU. I had a MC between my two little boys exactly 2 years ago at 6 weeks. A similar thing happened i tested a few times BUT the lines never got any darker and stayed very faint. This time they did get a bit darker but with my two babies when i tested the lines got darker everyday considerably. I am just so terrified its all happening again and im waiting for an impending mc. I feel really down as i want to be excited like all the naive folk who tell the world and have healthy babies but i just feel confused and let down really. I could go on to have a baby thats fit and well and the preg could progress but i feel like i cant be happy or sad just yet.

Has this happened to anyone and they have had a healthy baby or do you think im in the middle of a chemical preg and awaiting the mc to start? Please be honest...

I am getting preg symptoms, freq urination, tiredness, mood swings, veiny breasts and cramping all as usual.
