What do they discuss in the "women only" sessions at the NCT courses?

I think from what I've been told my people who have attended it's an "ask any question you want" and they talk more about the state of your boobs, your bits etc etc

I think they found it helps the women in the group bond and that they ask questions they are too embarrassed to ask in front of other peoples male partners. Our sends the men off to the pub for the evening to get them to bond too. Think they also get someone to come along who is bf a young baby and they tend to ask her lots of intimate questions!

... if we had done, I'm not sure what would have happened as my dp is a woman. As it is, she only had to endure being asked if she wanted to learn to breastfeed too, and assured (very earnestly) that this is possible, women in California are doing it.

We had an hour session on what to look out for when breastfeeding (thrush, mastitus etc), a bit about feeding with flat nipples and then just a chat about if anyone had any pressure not to etc and how they were dealing with it. Sounds good written down but our tutor was actually useless

blimey - two women breastfeeding their baby that sounds bloody brilliant!

Yeah, but I think you have to work really chuffin hard to trigger a milk supply in a non-pregnant woman. We decided it wasn't worth the hassle! (We were also promised that men can breastfeed too. At this stage you could almost see all the men in the room wishing this HAD been saved for a woman-only slot...)
