She should be fine to travel back but may be worth getting a health check first.(BP mainly)

There is no reason to have a cervical stitch just because its triplets, obviously if she shows signs of an incompetant cervix then its different.

Her pregnancy will be well monitored and although multiple pregnancies are harder physically there is no reason for it to be that much riskier than a normal pregnancy.

thanx ready....

im not sure what to advice her, i dont want to infact, as she has waited along time to fall pregnant...

she should not be taking advice from anyone other than her obstetrician

a triplet pregnancy is inherently high risk but she should be managed as high risk

is she somewhere were the health care system is not so great?

mama2leah · 06/07/2009 17:23

she is in Africa...she wants to come here for treatment.

from what i understand i doctor keeps putting her off, saying i will tell you next week, and orders more tests etc..where she pays more money, not sure his intentions are honourable.

ok, well if she wants to come back to teh UK she would need to fly back sooner rather than later as flying later in pregnancy is a risk anyway and she is unlikely to get far into her 3rd trimester and may need bed rest once she gets to mid 2nd trimester or thereabouts. how many weeks is she ?

mama2leah · 06/07/2009 17:34

she is 14 weeks...

i;d get back to the UK as soon as and make sure travel insurance is sorted

EldonAve · 06/07/2009 17:36

so she doesn't live in the UK?

mama2leah · 06/07/2009 17:40

she does, went to Africa for treatment, i do not want to go into the ins and outs of her personal life....

in africa they want her to have a cervical stitch, should she have it done before she travels?

i tried getting advice from the hospital here, but it was very difficult.

can she get a 2nd opinion on the stitch over there?

mama2leah · 06/07/2009 17:44

i will mention that to her thanx.
