Can you tell when baby becomes engaged?? Ow, ow, ow!

Am only 35 weeks, but tis no3. Baby has been head down all along but notes from MW last week said N/E which I take to mean 'not engaged'.

Earlier on I sat down quickly on the sofa, where I normally sit down more gingerly....fuck me, I thought I had sat on a bowling ball . I shot up with a yelp and it bought tears to my eyes.

I have been getting lots of knitting needle up fanjo pains since and achey pains too.

Am booked in for section in 3 weeks, he'll stay in until then won't he?

oooh, def sounds engaged Suwoo but babies can engage and disengage for weeks - can cause pain tho in the areas you're describing.

Keep an eye on it, obviously you'll know that if the pains start becoming regular and across your abdomen/back to ring your midwife immediately!!

Sounds engaged- I've been 2/5 engaged since 35 weeks and am now 38 + 6 so you should be ok

I bought a birthing / excersize blow up ball and its the most comfy thing ever- as you'll probably feel like you're sitting on his head - they're only 5-10 quid and a real investment if youre struggling to get comfy

Thanks for that you two, that is what my instinct was telling me. It feels better this morning but thats because I haven't been throwing myself down onto the sofa.
Or maybe he's disengaged himself again after the shock of me sitting on his head
