Pregnant with DD (37 weeks) and so exhausted/limited in ability to swing DS (17 months around and carry him up onto the slide a million times etc etc. DH has been taking over increasingly for the last 6 weeks or so and I'm starting to feel inadequate and a bit of a distance between us. He's such a wriggler, lying down for a cuddle or simply reading a book isn't his thing usually, and jumping up to run around after him is really hard work esp as the day goes on.

Does anyone else worry about this?

You've done well to make it this far !

I'm only 19 weeks and my patience is at an all time low. Ds' (2.6) behaviour isn't good at the moment and I'm exhausted.

Good luck for the coming weeks.

ALL ds did when I was in late stages of pg was watch tv.

He will be fine, your relationship will be fine, try not to worry. I know this is easier said than done, but trust me, I have been there.

I'm pg with dc4 and only 15 weeks, but feel guilty about the same too, come 6.30pm i'm exhausted and DH is taking up all the slack.

In the days i try to take the smaller 2 to playgroups etc, and be home for lunch, just so i have done something with them that day iyswim.

Honestly, it's normal and all will be fine.

I'm 23 weeks pg with DS2 and DS1 is 12 months old - I already feel that he is not getting the level of attention he should be getting from me and dh is doing more and more . I also have SPD so nappy changing and bathtime is becoming more and more painful.

I try and reassure myself that he won't remember this time .

Good luck for the next few weeks .

No, I'm a brilliant mum at 35 weeks. DH on the other hand is doing fuck all .

Sorry, just pissed off.

justlookatthatbooty · 04/07/2009 20:49

oh Suwoo, I'm sorry. Can you kick up the a**e bigtime? I bet you are a brilliant mum and wish you all the best with the birth and new one. Hope it gets better.

Thanks everyone else, really really reassuring...can go to bed a little less sad now.

Sorry for ranting on your thread. I am just sick of getting up and down with the other two whilst DH plays his playstation.
Grrrrrrrrr.

Thanks for your kind wishes and good luck to you too.

I'm due today. The last few weeks have been so hard and felt really bad yesterday when my Little girl was sat on my bed watching Peppa Pig and I was on the sofa watching This Morning.

I think everyone goes through the same thing.

I find the best thing to do is invite friends over for her to play with.

I usually find that the mummies help tidy up and it keeps her entertained for a bit.

Don't feel bad I'm sure you're a great mum

Heebychick · 06/07/2009 09:34

Hi, i am due next week and last night was in tears as i feel so awful not being able to 'dance/swing/roll around/run' with DD (2.4). Everything hurts and i'm sooo fed up.

It's nice (sorry) to hear that i'm not alone, very reassuring.

I'm sure we are all great mums and do all we can to keep everyone happy.

xx

I felt like that for last few weeks with DS2 (DS1 was 18 months when he was born so about the same as your gap). Your DS won't remember any of this. Just try to get visitors to coo over him, rather than the baby, so he gets a surplus of attention in a few weeks time.

(And at least it is only a few weeks - this time I started to feel like that from 8 weeks when started to be sick!)

Thank god for this thread!!! Am 35 weeks and DD 2 and a half and I have felt like a rubbish mum lately! We are usually really busy and active and she is starting to think Peppa Pig is her family! Somedays better than others, today i managed to get her to her dance class! Yesterday awful though.

Kept feeling ill like i was going to faint and just burst into tears. Its frustration more than anything, and guilt!!!

So pleased to know I am not alone!

We must put far too much pressure on ourselves to be supermum!

I am even appeasing her with freddo bars (at regular intervals).

DP gets home and I just hand it all over to him! Feel bad about that too! Always think that he thinks I am being pathetic... even though he never says so!

Hello Heeby - haven't you dropped YET?

Heebychick · 07/07/2009 12:11

funtimewincies · 07/07/2009 18:34
