to go to a Take That concert when I'll be 37 weeks pregnant? The main problem is, the ticket says 'unreserved seating & pitch standing' - now there's no way I could stand for the whole thing and wouldn't want to get squashed anyway, but the doors open at 4pm (concert starts at 6.30) so I figured if I go there by 4pm I should be able to get an 'unreserved seat'? Then I can either leave a little bit early to avoid the crowds or wait until everyone's gone for the same reason.

Meh. Go and if its not working out for you, leave. At least then you won't wonder.

But then I have never been 37 weeks pregnant so what do I know?

and if you get there at 4pm that's a long time to go without needing the loo, or will someone sit with you for 2 and a half hours to save your seat!

I'm going with a good friend who doesn't mind coming early with me & we'll take a picnic so she can save my seat when I need to go for a wee (or I may borrow one of my daughter's nappies

I wouldn't do it - I was waaaaay too fat and tired to enjoy something like that.

erm - personally I wouldn't. What if you can't find a seat? Also, what about the loudness for the babe? They are known to put their hands over their ears from 28 weeks on if a loud noise happens. I'm 30 weeks now and wouldn't consider it, just in case it stressed out the baby. Sorry - probably not what you wanted to hear !

I wouldn't - I ended up being admitted at 37+2 having clearly burnt myself out. I would be tired uncomfortable and not enjoy it. At that stage I could barely walk. But that's me - I know others who really sailed through their pregnancies and would have thought nothing of it.

I say go if you want/feel up to it. In my experience most people (who aren't pregnant or otherwise in need of a seat) tend to prefer to stand/dance/jump about at a concert (even to the point of trying to sneak into the standing areas when they've only been able to get seated tickets), so you may find that the seating is easier to get than you think. Of course, I've never been to see Take That so the audience may have very different preferences. In any case, I'd imagine that most people would be more than willing to give up their seat for you if you asked nicely. If you can't find a seat and really need to sit down/rest the St John's Ambulance people (or whoever else is doing the first aid) will definitely sort you out/look after you.

You could also phone the venue in advance and ask if they could reserve you a seat (I'm sure they do this for disabled people). It's not like you're trying to be unreasonable.

I went to Cardiff to see them and was amazed how many pregnant women there were, we had unreserved seating and at 5.30 was still loads left but by the time James Morrison came on they were getting full very quickly, (about 6.30?) If you feel up to it I think you would really enjoy it.

p.s It was ear-buzzingly loud if u know what I mean, no fuzzyness afterwards.

I wouldn't and probably couldn't BUT some people get to 37 weeks with a tiny bump, not so much as an ache or pain and continue to work until their due date.... So its very personal. How badly do you want to go. Could you sell your ticket to someone if you weren't up to it on the day?

i'm feeling ok at the moment (fingers crossed), mummyplonk your posts reassure me a bit. I was going to get there for 4pm so that should be plenty of time to get a seat. If I'm not enjoying it I can just leave I suppose. So mummyplonk are you saying it wasn't deafening?
Funny you should say that about pregnant women - I phoned up the venue the other week & they said lots of pregnant women had phone up! I think the age of their fans is obviously child bearing age!

I'd go. I went to the Prodigy when pregnant with DS and have seen bands in this pregnancy and have been absolutely fine, people tend to be more thoughtful and get out of your way, especially when you have a big bump!

FWIW, studies on hearing loss in babies as a result of in-utero exposure to loud noise are based on pregnant women who work in an environment which requires them to wear ear defenders - not on women who go to the one-off concert! Stress responses to loud music in the mother are potentially damaging to fetal development - but only in the first couple of months after conception.

As others have said, you could always leave if you felt you weren't up to it.

Yes, was loud but not deafening, certainly a tamer one (assuming volume is monitored will hopefully be the same for your venue). One thing I should mention, as it was approx 80% women there the qeues for the toilet where gigantic, they opened extra disabled ones for the women but I certainly wouldnt hang on if you feel the urge .

I say go for it, girl - Take That are apparently stunning live so you won't want to miss it.

I am only 31 weeks (and feeling pretty good on it) and have been to lots of gigs since being pregnant. I have no idea what it's like to be 37 weeks and how achey/tired one is likely to get, but as long as you feel ok, drink lots of water and rest when you need to, there's no reason why not. You might have to leave the dancing in the aisles to others, but hey!

well I went last night and I survived! In fact it was bloody brilliant! got there early so managed to get a seat thank god. Did loads of dancing and am knackered today! I think the baby enjoyed Take That but I did feel guilty during Lady Gaga bec it did seem to be protesting a bit, but it didn't last very long. No queues for the loo either!
