Underbelly of bump aching - 26 weeks - normal or too much toddler carrying?

My bump is quite big this time and the underneath side of it is really aching today. Almost like period pains but - I think - a bit more muscular. Is this just ligaments stretching as I grow or have I overdone it? I have a two year old and although I try not to carry her for long periods it's impossible not to carry her at all.

I'm 22 weeks and having alot of this, even though I now don't have to pick up my 4 year old. I think it's just ligaments but that does hurt more when you overdo it so probably a combination. I remember it was much worse last time when my older one was only just over 1, but as you say there's not much you can do. I think you have quite rapid growth in the size of the bump in these weeks so hopefully it will settle down a bit with time. Not much help I know, but it does sound fairly normal

I got this in both my subsequent pregnancies but I do have to lift tables, chairs and boxes at work as well as my toddler.

Be very careful, I managed to pull a ligament in my bump and it was very painful and stupid.

I had this one day last week at 26 weeks and I don't have to lift anything but was on my feet for hours the day before and had climbed lots of stairs at an event.
It was really painful, I think I had just over done it a bit. I rested all the day and was fine again the next day.
Hope you are better today too.

Thanks. Is feeling better today after quite a good night's sleep. I guess it's a big thing for your muscles to suddenly be lugging around...

it must be that, I was really starting to get worried last week when it happened to me but it was also so reminisant(sp?) of the ligament pain I had had earlier in the pregnancy... then after a rest it subsided so I wasn't so worried.
This is my first baby and I have had a couple of friends tell me that they over did it once or twice and were really sore the next day - one friend danced all night at new year at 7.5 months and suffered for her enjoyment

it sounds like round ligament pain to me- sometimes so painful at night when I turn. it hurts. don't worry....i also have toddler and it hurts more when I am carrying etc. Have seen Doc and physio and they both agree it is ligament pain- didn't have it first time round- but sure do this time......!!!! Don't worry- warm baths and as much rest as poss (toddler mayhem allowing!) helps me. (oh and drinking water seems to help)
