Want to get some different maternity clothes to help me feel cool in this heat...

Any ideas? I've got a really nice thin cotton dress from H&M which is not actually maternity. Apart from that all tops etc are in jersey cotton which I'm finding sweaty in this heat. Anyone seen anything? If I get to look cool too so much the better but not really fussed!

Don't know about what's around at the moment, but when pg with DS I got some nice floaty cotton tops from Mothercare which would be nice and cool - with spaghetti straps. Also got some nice floaty skirts from Mamas & Papas (in the sale wahey!). So they might be worth trying.

I think i saw some linen shirts in M&S the other day. i wasn't really looking at the maternity stuff though just wandering so can't be certain that it was maternity wear

I've really struggled to be honest. H&M have got some linen cropped trousers and vest tops. Mothercare had a couple of linen type tops. Apart from that, I've got most stuff from ebay. My best buy was a lovely cool dress from Blooming Marvellous but they don't seem to have any thing nice at the moment

Must be a nightmare in this heat, what about this and these? There are linen trousers on mamas and papas too

Got some cotton 70's smock-type tops (not maternity but v. roomy) from Sainsbury's the other week and they're lovely and cool.

i spent today with a pregnant friend who got some fab dresses from asda (not meternity but a size up from usual). Very cheap, very cool and might even do again next year 9if not I'm a size bigger than her so I might have to nab tehm off her!)

I liked next mat clothes when i was pregnant and thought there were some surprisingly nice (and reasonable) stuff in this seasons spring/summer blooming marvellous catalogue.

Some Monsoon and Zara things are great when hot and pregnant - floaty and sheer. Gap maternity is the best of the "proper" ranges IMO, though. They had some genuinely pretty tops in silk/cotton very fine blends last year; I lived in those.

Thanks everyone, all good thoughts. Like the idea of picking up a couple of oversize linen dresses even if not maternity. Just can't cope with anything too tight around my skin at the moment...

I am with you 100% - I start out looking roughly normal in the morning and gradually inflate throughout the day so I am living in cheap linen trousers with the button undone and big cotton smocky things.

Got a nice checky smock thing from H&M Mama at the weekend and a pretty white floaty top on Mamas and Papas sale.

I second Gap maternity. I pick up loads of stuff there at the weekend all in the sale. It's all light and floaty and perfect!

Have been living in a brown linen skirt from JoJoMaman bebe (this season) and cheap t-shirts / vest tops.

Just bought great linen dress from Kew. Not maternity but roomy and very cool - sleeveless and loose around bump. £50 but hopefully will get use post bump as well!

I bought a gorgeous green patterned strappy sun dress from H & M yesterday - they had it in ourple too. It's fantastic - very cool and flattering. (I think!) And only £16 ish.

I'm wearing this - does for work with a jacket and out to meals etc. It's linen - not a jersey panel in sight...
