Bleeding and off for exam tomorrow- definite miscarriage?

The weekend has consisted of light spotting, leading up to more constant bleeding today with some clots. As all over the weekend unable to see anyone who can actually tell me anything until tomorrow, and needless to say not the most enjoyable waiting game. Feeling sad, disappointed, and tired of uncertainty. Is this a fairly standard sounding miscarriage? Has anyone made it through the other end with a positive story? Thanks.

I have no idea how far gone you are but I had this early on in my first pregnancy. Bleeding was heavier than a period and bright red blood. Couldn't see how I wasn't miscarrying the baby. I went to EPU and they scanned me and all was fine. The woman there said they see people with blood running down their legs and whose babies are fine. I bled for another 10 days. But the result of that pregnancy is currently 1 years old and cross because he doesn't want to be in his cot....

Good luck - I know well how worrying this is. But remember, this isn't necessarily bad news. Concentrate on your exam and then try and get to an EPU as soon as you can.

Thanks. Sadly they can't see my until Wed so the waiting game continues and your story is intereting. Not high hopes but will hold off hitting the wine bottle now just in case. Could really use it thought! How long did your bleeding last for and at what point in the pregnancy?

oremstango I'm in exactly the same position as you. I'm 5+1 and started bleeding on friday, stopped yesterday afternoon. It was lighter than a period but more than I'd have been "comfortable" seeing.

I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow and whilst they obviously won't be able to detect a heartbeat maybe my cervix will blow a kiss or a wink or something!

There really are an enormous amount of positive stories out there - and having spoken to two women whom I trust - they both said "I bled loads" - nobody ever tells you this at the start do they? They should print that tit-bit on the back of the piss-stick box so you don't run out of your office screaming!

Hello oremstango. I just wanted to say that I bled on and off for eight weeks during my last pregnancy and now have a perfectly healthy nine month old baby girl. Sometimes it was spotting and a couple of times there was a gush of blood (sorry if that's a bit too much information). I never did find out the reason for it despite many trips to the hospital/GP but do know how absolutely terrifying it is - I was a nervous wreck which probably didn't help so try to rest and relax a bit if you can.
