I'm 30 weeks with no 2 and the skin around my belly button feels very strange, tender and sore in some places and oddly numb in other places, been going on for about a week now, I don't think it's affecting baby but it's a bit uncomfortable! Any advice?

No advice, but I'm 34 weeks with No. 2 and have the same feeling (not so much numb, but very temder and sore) so am watching with interest. Hope you don't mind.

37 weeks and have the same! I think it's where the skin is stretched very tightly and causes the nerve endings to give up a little or to get very sensitive - stings like mad at times!

It's weird cause I'm used to that stretchy skin feeling but not this soreness! I don't even have and 'new' stretch marks.....hmmm....maybe they're on the way!!!!

Not sure if I have the same thing. I'm 28 weeks and have had a strange feeling around the lower right of my bump for the last few weeks. It feels a bit like being bruised and grazed at the same time, but with nothing to show for it, iyswim.

MW said she'd heard of it before, but didn't know the cause. It's more annoying than worrying, as it feels like just under the skin and nowhere near the precious cargo.

I wondered if it was rubbing from maternity trousers, but wearing dresses doesn't seem to have helped.
