For those of you that didn't have hyperemesis, how long did the nausea last?

Because at 12+6 I don't think I can stand it much longer. It is constant and I am thoroughly miserable. I have felt sick since 6 weeks, and had a full week of keeping nothing down. I'm not being sick, just a bit of retching, but I still feel absolutely awful.

It lasted until 11 weeks last time. At my 12 week scan I was told that I had a corpus luteum cyst on my ovary that releases progesterone, and has usually gone by 12 weeks. In my case it is still there, and the sonographer said that would be contributing to the nausea. Does that mean the end is not in sight?

I so want to be excited but I just feel too crap.

Im 17+5 wks and have been suffering since wk6. At 13wks I begged my GP for something and was prescribed travel sickness tablets. Some days they worked but half the time i threw up before the tablet had even had time to be digested properly and after about 2 weeks i decided to stop taking them and try to brave it out. I was certain that the golden rule was that sickness ended by week 12 and then surely enough you hit week 12 and then the story changes to 14-16 and now im on 17 everyone keeps telling me its generally 20. Im just trying to come to terms with the fact that it might just carry on throughout and if it doesn't - bonus!
Im only generally sick now once a day but im having a real hate/hate relationship with all food and i am suffering badly with excessive saliva.
Its seriously miserable and im sure all my friends are now sick of me moaning!
Ah well - only 22+ wks to go....x.

Pinkjenny - it may have been partly the cyst. My friend who is a surgeon refers to my morning sickness as 'progesterone poisoning', which is about right as I do feel I have been poisoned by something nasty!

I asked my mum about it at the weekend (she had 4 of us). Like me, the first 2 pregnancies' sickness ended at abut week 12 but with my sister (no.3), she was sick for 30 weeks (eek!). So i suppose it depends on the baby. This is my 3rd and I have been much more sick this time so I hope I don't follow her...

I didnt get the nausea til i was 14wks and it lasted 7weeks. It was horrendous. I can't (and don't want to) imagine what it would be like feeling it for the first 17wks of being preggers.

My sister was sick once a day every day until her DS was born. Whereas when she was preggers with DD she wasn't sick until wk20 and it lasted about 8weeks for her.

Hope it eases up soon

I had nausea till about 20 weeks with DS. Am currently 14 weeks and still feeling sick every morning and sometimes throughout the day too.

Sorry, I know that's probably not reassuring.

Hope you (and I) feel better soon.
