Does Pregnancy Make you silly

OK so not permanently, but I will be blaming my errors on the bump, rather than the fact I am eternally blonde....

Article in the paper this morning - I had to laugh, having this morning poured my boiling water (intended for my mug and tea bag) all over my cheerios.

it's certainly made me silly - I put my instant coffee on my toast the other day, rather than in the mug. Blaming it entirely on the bump...

Not here, thank goodness! Though I was doing something very complicated at work last week, it was at the end of the day and I was a bit tired but it took me a good while to get it right, so maybe I had a sneaky attack of it then!

Yup, I frequently find myself buttering my toast with a spoon or putting my mug in the fridge.

At work I'm constantly asking myself 'what was I just doing?' and tend to drift off halfway through sent...

i have gone mad i think !! i was holding bottle of hair mousse in one hand and a glass of water in the other hand, i tried to shake my hair mousse bottle and shook the water instead (all over myself)then screamed in disbelief
thank god i didnt drink the hair mousse

Well, it's been a while since I was pregnant but on one memorable occasion I opened my credit card bill which had the amount for our forthcoming holiday tickets on it - realised that I couldn't remember where I had left the tickets which had arrived a few days previously. Turned the house upside down, eventually gave up and started searching in the bin (pre-recycling days). Several messy bags later, had to give up on those tickets but did find a couple of very expensive opera tickets which had arrived on another day! My nesting instinct obviously clicked in very early and I was throwing everything out!

I was very relieved 6 months after having dd2 to be told by a well learned friend that it takes women up to four years to regain all memory fuctions after having a baby. so i wasn't the only crazy woman finding the milk had gone of because it had been in the cupboard all day whereas the tea bags were nicely chilled in the fridge. 9wks pg with third now so didn't have time to regain it all from the last one, so you can imagine what my dh going through trying to find everything for his breakfast in the morning!

I developed some kind of strange physical object spoonerism:

Cucumber in the knife drawer
Knife in the Salad crisper

Shower gel on the floor next to the toilet.
Toilet Duck on the windowsill.

And don't even talk to me about keys.

Am known for being a tad sarcastic sometimes and was asked for my extension by a colleague at work. Gave the number, they tried it and it didn't work, gave the number again and counted them out on my fingers at the same time. I then realised I'd given my colleagues extension not mine I had the good grace to take the mickey out of myself everytime I had to give a number out from then on

oh it definately does. Last night i was making bread in my bread maker...so i took the baking box out...measured out all the ingredients...and put them into the bread machine. Not the baking box where they are meant to go. I only realised when i turned it on and there was this horrible crunching sound.

I am useless at the moment and forget what I'm saying before the sentance is finished. i just sort of trail off into a stupor.

i put it down to being preoccupied with giving birth in the next few weeks...

I def. suffered when pg with DS1 and am struggling a little this time (hot chocolate powder in microwave, milk in hot choc cupboard etc) and my midwife said it was all down to omega oils...

Ooh definitely! The other day my little girl was holding my moisturiser tube in the bathroom. I was just about to do her teeth, so grabbed the toothpast and the tube from her hand and squirted a nice line of moisturiser along it. milimetres away from her mouth my 2 year old DD declared 'silly mummy' and I realised my mistake.

Last pregnancy I was out shopping on my own and returned to the car with my purchases. I then went and sat in the passanger seat... it was a good few minutes before I remembered I was on my own and in fact I would need to get in the driver's seat and drive myself home. very embarrasing!

While at a cafe I have forgotten to order food for my son. In my defence I had ordered for my husband who was having the same thing. On second thought, maybe I had ordered for my son but forgotten to order for my husband. That sounds much better (and doesn't make me eligible for the rubbish mum of the year awards).

I never went 'silly' during preg. I think it depends on the person, and according to nutritionists, on how well you're nourishing your body. The baby will be prioritised over the mother in the queue for nutrients, so if you're not stocking up on all the stuff you need, you'll find that your brain and other organs are affected by nutrient depletion.

Too many to mention, but did manage to totally foget my PIN at the cash machine the other day. I just had a total blank, tried two numbers and gave up. It popped into my head 4 hours later, unannounced!

I almost left my glasses on a table at a do last night.

My kitchen is an entirely random collection of things in wrong places.

I almost put coffee in the kettle the other day...

I need to keep a jotter at work where I record everything that pops into my head that I need to do/say to anyone, and everything that I have done/said to anyone so that I have half a chance of functioning normally and not standing around looking dazed and wondering what my name is
