evening (no I am not still hung over just been running around like a headless chicken today for some reason.) Off out tonihght for my birthday as we have my parents here to baby sit, wea are both exhausted after another 5am waking but you have to grap the opportunity.

Neddie maybe a daft question but if horses need to much help with the ermmmmm covering how on earth do they get on in the wild?

heron22 · 27/06/2009 19:48

hedgepig Happy Birthday have a good night out! you're right, have to grab opportunities to go out

ladies, i think i have expressed breastmilk for the last time. only got around 60mls for 20mins work! hardly worth it. but jsut the thought of givingup makes me sad. as thisis my last baby.

Tee2072 · 27/06/2009 19:51

mrsb he actually didn't go with us. It was me and mum and step dad. DH was napping! But I would bet he will insist on pushing it when he does go!!

I had a spectacular melt down today while cooking dinner. Screaming banshee time. Mum says she surprised it took two weeks and that I am allowed and she is sorry as it kicked off as she insisted on putting laundry on while I was cooking dinner and she got in my way. And she made a huge mess. I feel like an idiot. A tired stressed out anxious idiot.

johnworf · 27/06/2009 19:56

heron you can see your GP and get some Domperidone and see if that works. But if it goes (mine did too) then not to worry. You've done your best and he's had your milk

mrsb DH will do stuff if I 'nag' him (a word I hate). Today he did a lot in the garden, unprompted, so he does do some things I guess. He's can't cook, won't cook though....I think it's more won't than can't.

hedgepig hope you have a fab night out dear. You go girl. It's my turn next weekend hopefully. On your return, tell me in great detail what the outside world looks like and remind me what it is like to have adult conversation.

tabitha sorry to hear that B has also got his nights and days mixed up. It makes for mucho frustration for mummy and daddy.

Our dog is going bananas at the thunder we're having. Trying to blackmail him with bones so he'll shut up barking. Lasts for the length of chewing the bone i.e. not long.

Well...it's jimjam time here at Worf Towers. K has given up the ghost and gone to bed. I was trying to get her to stay up as long as possible but by 7.30 she was knackered. I just hope she manages to go through until the morning.

Spent a small fortune on the Lakeland website this afternoon. It pains me..but I also enjoy it Some of the stuff is really overpriced but some of it was in the sale so it's swings and them there roundabouts thrown in too.

Usual waiting for Mr McIntyre tonight then off to bed methinks. Splendid

Runs back in...fetches a chair, cup of tea and offers a hug to tee.

Don't worry dear....it's only a meltdown We've all had one. Some of us are still having them It was on the cards and you were the only one that didn't see it coming. Not to worry. I think having a rant and a scream sometimes is very therapeutic. Ask my DH

There might be a few more, there might not. If there are just accept them as part of being a mummy...albeit a tired, stressed out mummy. Tired and stressed is our motto on this thread as you well know.

Domperidone sounds like Dom Perignon. Wonder if the latter would be good for milk production?

Well, my community MW thought my BP still too high so DH and I were in the hosp for 4 hrs (while neighbours took kids to pics and tea out, bless 'em) having my BP and baby's heart rate monitored, and bloods, urine and reflex checks for pre-eclampsia, all of which showed up clear. So when the MW went to tell the registrar I was all clear and wanted to go 14 days over before induction, imagine my surprise when the msg came back - without even seeing me! - that she wanted me to be induced tomorrow solely on account of maternal age. . No way! So lovely MW got her to agree to me coming in to have bp and baby's heart rate monitored for an hour in the morning. Then MW gave me a very intrusive sweep and told DH he needed to provide further prostaglandins later, at which he actually saluted her and said Aye aye .

Bit of a bind, but if it buys a few days' grace it's worth it.

Sorry, memememe, will catch up properly later but meanwhile sending sympathy to other hot and bothered pregnant ladies, and hot cross new mummies, and hedge have a lovely night out.

iris66 · 27/06/2009 20:28

heron - you did brilliantly bf for so long with having to do all that expressing too IMO. Don't be sad - be proud of what you've achieved

ermintrude - am keeping everything crossed for you tonight - this'll be the one - good luck!

Tee - regular meltdowns are expected you know! How can you be a fully paid up female without being a slave to your hormones?
I'm preparing everyone by having them every other day at the moment. However, if my mother (daily phone calls)says "you still here then?" one more time or gives me another 'original' pearl of wisdom as to how to go into labour - like she's been doing for the past 2 weeks - I am actually going to scream until I'm sick!

jw - ooooh you really caught my attention that time (not that I don't think of you often - I can't wait to see your bit in the indie tomorrow ) Lakeland sale did you say?
< whoooooooooooooosh! - iris disappears in a puff of smoke to gaze at no faff foil et al...>

heron22 · 27/06/2009 20:29

jw i did go to my gp some weeks back about domperidone, she refused to give it to me. she consulted her book and said that it is actually not recommended for taking when bfeeding.

ur right, i have done my bit. LO is nearly 6 months anyway.

tee ah, meltdowns, all part of being a mum. dont worry about it. i am sure ur mum understands.

ermin good for you for buying a few days' grace.

Tee2072 · 27/06/2009 20:39

From what I understand about Domperidone, it doesn't really work after your milk comes in anyway. But your GP is silly, heron. Its what they gave me in hospital to try to bring my milk in.

Thanks for the support all. It didn't help that the Lord Mayors Parade was PACKED and I have real problems with crowds.

johnworf · 27/06/2009 20:58

Oh god, thanks iris for reminding me about tomorrow. I feel liked I've been papped at 3am coming out of a night club with Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross...in a taxi, ready for the threesome I just hope that this journo does this article some justice and not just throw mud around, slagging doctors off. Plus, now I know that you lot are gonna be looking at me...thinking that I should have gone to the hairdressers Ah feck it. It'll have to do

Enjoy the Lakeland sale

heron I was told to go and see my GP to ask for Domperidone when I was almost at the end of my BF stint. Both by the nurses and by my MW. I got fenugreek capsules instead from H&B which kinda workd for a bit but made me stink. Just don't get too hung up on it. You've done your darnedest which is a lot more than most.

I wonder if ermintrude is having her progesterone administered as I type????

Right, I've just made an executive decision; I'm having a scone. If I poop my pants then so be it. The pain will be worth it.....exit stage left.

Hi everyone I'm afraid after reading this I'm going to have to gloat.

GLOAT ALERT!!!

My dp is fantastic and does shed loads around the house and with Sam, of course Sam is only 10 weeks old so things might change but I doubt it.

His doing housework etc. has more to do with the fact he's a neat freak and I'm a slob so anything I do he does again

End of gloat

iris66 · 27/06/2009 21:05

Bloody hell it doesn't take long to spend £50 online does it ! _ my order started off at over £90 but I was very good and pared it down to the essentials (yoghurt mixes, foil and other boring stuff ) I decided we didn't need the tabletop burner to impress guests with in a powercut (have barbecue ) and a raclette, although pretty cool, wouldn't get the use. Likewise the quadruple, 3 tier cake tin and the butterfly cake tin. I feel most abstemious/smug/frugal

iris66 · 27/06/2009 21:08

pthththththtttththththththt! [blowing huge raspberry emoticon] you lucky lucky girl

Talking of lucky...

dawn mine too.

duchesse · 27/06/2009 21:25

Neddie, given that you're expecting twins and I always go overdue (13 days with the last one), my money's on you dropping yours first.

7 weeks 1 day... [hollow laugh emoticon]

duchesse · 27/06/2009 21:26

And Tee- perfectly normal. Your mum sounds like a star. Mine would have had a hissy fit about me melting down, as would my MIL.

mrsboogie · 27/06/2009 21:36

no Lakeland orders or Boden for me. Had a letter from the bank today telling me I have spent my overdraft AND the overdraft on my overdraft. Been bad.

/sigh

payday Tuesday but I must be frugal from now on.

still I can have a mini gloat of my own -I have never suffered from any kind of hormonal related trouble. Never had PMT, no baby blues, never even cried once after giving birth or anything. Its like I'm immune to my own hormones. I know I am very lucky (as is my OH)

johnworf · 27/06/2009 22:23

Morning, have just finished watching Afterworld as Sam now thinks it's funny to shout whilst asleep!

dxx

johnworf · 28/06/2009 07:40

dawntigga No idea what Afterworld is! Not good though that he's waking you up even while he's got his eyes shut

Well, been and got The Inde but don't see any signs of me (large sigh). Wonder if I've been binned to make way for M Jackson reportage? If anyone else has already got the paper and has seen my whereabouts, please let me know

JJ have you emigrated?

OP posts:
heron22 · 28/06/2009 09:02

morning all how is everyone? hope you all had a good sleep. it was rather muggy last night! another bright sunny day ahead of us

my GP is daft. but nevermind, will finish off with bfeeding. LO actually turned his face away when i offered him my saggy boob. how funny. at least i dont have the opposite problem.

jeanjeannie · 28/06/2009 09:30

Sorry ladies - I've not emigrated but lost internet connection and then....and then....WENT OUT! Yes, DP (afraid mine has to join in with Dawntigga's DH on being a good 'un)looked after the girls AND my mate's 3yrs old and 1yr old! We went to see mate's DH play in a band - only out for 3 hours but when we got back all the kids were up and DP looked like he'd had a hoot! Iris thinks she's had her first sleep over!

Haven't had time to read all the posts...sorry

jw Your piece must be in the Independant and it was mentioned on Radio 4 by Paddy O'connell this morning Have you rushed out to buy one yet? Are you in it?????

I wonder if all the lightening has helped erm to pop. It's stupidly close and hot here...I feel for you preggie ladies.

We're off to the Chiltern's Food fair for kiddies with Raymond Blanc today. A whole family day out for a £10 with food and fun all included....bring it on!!! We're not going with Raymond but it's his thing. He could come with us if he wants but it's a tight squeeze in the Berlingo!

johnworf · 28/06/2009 09:42

JJ it was on R4???

I've looked from cover to cover but my tired old eyes can't see it. Will get DH to look. Can you see it?
