My bet for ermjunior is Monday.

What do I get if I'm right?

My wonderful baby has turned into a crying machine today. Wouldn't settle anywhere but in my arms.

Just got him down into his pram (so he's in the front room with us) in one of his sleeping bags. I really must remember he likes to be wrapped up. Thank God Daddy has night watch tonight...

johnworf · 26/06/2009 21:28

tee you get to name ermintrude's LO if he/she is born on Monday as a prize I had today as the day LO would be born. Get cracking old girl....you've got 2.5 hours left!

I can't believe that my good friend tonight, sent me a text which read along the lines of....'I'm so sad that Michael Jackson has died. All the people in work couldn't care less...it's so sad'. WTF? I'm with the people in work! No one gives a flying fig about all the people who got killed in Afghanistan today or the Africans that have been starved/executed.

Right, I've found an old yoghurt in the fridge. If only it was chocolate

Morning ladies. Where is everyone? Was there a party last night and I didn't get an invite?

I went to bed early and I suspect that the ones of us who weren't gallivanting were doing likewise.

tee how was little A last night? Did daddy get the full force of the vomit?

ermintrude I'm expecting your first post today to read that you've had the baby before midnight so that I can name the baby as my prize!

I've finally found an article that says it's ok to be a little bit overweight (thanks DM, knew you'd come up trumps one day!). It's here.

I'm up - i just didn't log on as I've been in denial that I'm actually awake...5.15am madame Verity decided to howl Feel like I've slept on a bed of nails with a suitcase on bed head...

Wonder if erm is thrashing about on the lving room floor popping the LO?

Can I go to bed yet?

johnworf · 27/06/2009 07:41

JJ sorry to hear that Verity has got up so early. K was 45 minutes behind her I was in bed before the news last night though as I had a sneaky suspicion that she may get up early.

Of course, madam is back in her cot now...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm counting the days off until she reaches the magic age of 13. She won't get out of bed by noon if my others were anything to go by

Yeah ermintrude I can see it's head!

On the upside to being up early, the JL sale started at midnight last night...50% off some items but I couldn't find anything I wanted

Tee2072 · 27/06/2009 07:42

Good morning all

Nope, no party. Just early to bed. Adam did his usual good sleeping of 12 - 3, 3:30 - 6:30, so even Daddy got some decent sleep. I just pray this continues!!!

JW it was bad enough that his jeans went right into the wash. evil

I've actually heard of the study that article is referring to. And do think there is too much emphasis on how much you weigh, as opposed to how you live your life. And BMI is bull anyway.

erm????? JJ poor you! Verity, go to sleep!!!!!!!!!

Today is Adam's first venture out! Today is the Lord Mayor's Parade and Carnival and off we are going. Provided the weather holds...

johnworf · 27/06/2009 08:07

tee enjoy your first day out It's raining here but hope it passes you by and you have a lovely day.

Glad to hear that daddy's jeans got covered. Yay!

Oh dear goddess, he went down at 1930 last night - fab!

Woke him up for a 2230 feed - all ok!

From 0400 to now he's been feeding every 30 minutes. I think I preferred it when he didn't go to sleep until 0000

ermintrude13 · 27/06/2009 10:19

Heh heh, I've been up for hours but not posting, just to tease you. Waiting for MW to do blood pressure and wee again - zzzzzzzzz.

Tee have a lovely day out en famille

JW We want to buy a flatscreen telly but daren't brave the JL sale. Although... sod's law would dictate I'd give birth there and then in front of the I-macs, so maybe we should just go.

JJ and dawntigga, sorry your LOs are sleep-depriving you. Time to trot out the phrase we still use on our DC, and will be doing even more shortl - 'It's a good job you're cute'.

iris66 · 27/06/2009 10:20

morning all

DD's more or less recovered now (thanks for the kind thoughts)and back to Leeds tomorrow Shame the baby didn't play ball and make an appearance whilst she was here but never mind - I just hope that it doesn't wait until she comes back for the summer mid Jul!!! I am not going to be happy if this one's late! - the frustration's killing me already!! Nesting instinct has totally gone and I'm just blobbing around feeling as tired as if I've been up all night

jw - are you ill? No bargains to be had at JL at all? Glad the interview went well though and PMSL @ bj/gastric band (which I relayed to DD - she didn't laught quite as much but thought it v amusing too

Dawntigga - I'm very impressed with your milk donations - your pride is rightly placed How old's your LO by the way?

johnworf · 27/06/2009 11:11

ermintrude you are such a tease Why don't you buy your tv online and save yourself giving birth in JL (although you might get a free telly if you do?)

iris awww that was a quick visit from DD. Comes home, gets ill, nursed back to health and then poof! gone.

Sadly nothing in the sale that caught my eye. I can't bring myself to pay over £100 for an everyday dress. That's £100 reduced price. Anyway, the Boden sale starts next week and I'm saving the credit cards for that

dawntigga it's a recurrent theme on this thread of nocturnal wakings/early risers. It comes with the territory I'm afraid

I'm just waiting for madam to wake up then hope to go out somewhere. ANYWHERE!

Had a quandry moment last night. Relating the interview to DH, I said that when he asked me how many children I had, I told him 4. Well, that's how many I've given birth to. I didn't mention DSS as a) I'm not his mother and he's technically not mine and b) I thought it would confuse the issue. DH was most puzzled by this. He said, 'well you have got 4 children so why would you feel bad about it?' I dunno. Why DO I feel bad about not mentioning DSS?

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 27/06/2009 12:09

JW I would imagine because even though you didn't give birth to him, you do mother him, since he lives with you. You certainly speak about him as if you were his mother i.e. trying to get him to not play XBox and eat his veggies and what have you.

Weather is not great here, but we are going to voyage out anyway. The kid needs an airing!!

iris66 · 27/06/2009 13:43

jw - DH & I have had similar discussions. my 2 DSS' don't live with us and I don't mother them at all yet I still feel guilty if someone asks how many and I say we're expecting No4. Should it be we're expecting No3 (as joint genetic child), No.4 (as ones I've given birth to), or No.6 as in all our children - confusing.

Tee - I'm really impressed. You sound like you gave birth months ago instead of days! I hardly ventured outside for ages after mine.

Just had lovely roast for lunch (pretending it's Sunday as DD's off tomorrow morning and she loves a roast) unfortunately she wasn't up to eating hopefully a bit of slob time in the sun will lift her spirit (once DS2 has finished attacking her, shouting "mack, mack") with his new foam sword (courtesy of my lovely neighbour who randomly turned up with one for each of the boys yesterday, bless)

Off to blitz the kitchen - seems my nesting mojo is kicking back in (sort of - I cleaned all the windows before lunch)

iris66 · 27/06/2009 13:45

ps - I'm sure it says something about me that I'm not overly keen on Boden (plenty of yummies round here rave about it and have been heard to argue who was the first to go to a Boden sale )

dawntigga · 27/06/2009 14:19

iris lo is fab his sbr came back in low so it's exactly what I said it was bf jaundice!

But then who am I? Why would they listen to me?

Twitter and Bisted? Moi?

duchesse · 27/06/2009 14:44

hot. heavy. uncomfortable.

mrsboogie · 27/06/2009 16:22

'ullo all

Bit hungover still, from last night. Slumped on sofa. House a tip. Hope y'all had a good friday night.

tee did you get to wheel the pram or is your DH like my bloke who MUST wheel the buggy at all times??

johnworf · 27/06/2009 16:26

ahem mrsb your OH wants to push the pushchair? Mine isn't arsed at all. He'd rather that I pushed it, out of the door, and leave him be to do whatever it is he does in the office next door

Why have I got a husband who does nowt?

I'm out the door myself....few bits I forgot on the list. The excitement.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 27/06/2009 16:48

haha jw well its his first so its a novelty but yeah it is always him who pushes, if I do it so he can tie shoelaces or whatever he asks for it back after 5 mins.

Neddie · 27/06/2009 17:08

duchesse I am also hot, heavy and uncomfortable. I am never ever doing this again. (I said that the last two times but I mean it!!!) I have watched about 6 episodes of Red Dwarf today as I am unable to move from the setee. I did venture to the stables for a quick overview of the covering (which didn't happen) and now straight back to slob.
9 weeks 5 days and counting..........
ermintrude I won't ask
Who is next duchesse or iris ?

Tabitha8 · 27/06/2009 18:02

Benjamin is now nocturnal. He thinks it is hilarious.
Tee The only place Benjamin will sleep is in a little swing chair. Bed? No. Cot? No? My arms? No. Daddy's arms? No.

heron22 · 27/06/2009 18:04

jw i too have a husband who does nowt! a lot of men are like that. i do all things to do with children and house.

been a really hot day today. and muggy too! it is about to rain really hard soon!

mrsboogie · 27/06/2009 18:53

OH doesn't do much around the house but he is great with D. Has changed 3 pooey nappies today and I have done none. He nearly always changes him.

iris66 · 27/06/2009 19:29

Neddie - I'm next after ermintrude (tonight, both of us? please?) - then Duchesse then Bonzodoodah. DH had his snip redone in Feb so we're definately not having anymore either(that said, he's got to go to be retested as his sample was classed as a failure last month) I sort of knew I wasn't finished after DS2 even though I thought we wouldn't have any more. I definately don't want to do this again now though.

Tabitha - why do they all go nocturnal for a while they clearly don't see our pain. Hope it doesn't last too long for you.

Very muggy here this evening too - it bucketed it down yesterday and last night and looks the same for tonight - forecast is scorchio for next week though!
