Ok, I admit I'm getting paranoid now but...

...did anyone have up and down measurements for their fundal height against dates? Mine were going swimmingly until 36 weeks then dropped to 35 at 37, 38 at 38 and now 36.5 at 40. Baby been engaged and 3/5 intermittenly in that time.

Last baby was 7lb s not expecting a huge one this time but the inconsistency is troubling me. Any reassuring and/or similar stories please?

Thanks

yes, I think it's normal.
was at bumps and babes today with DS and there was a lady there saying the exact same thing!
Apparently it's gone down because the baby is more engaged...

Oh, don't worry - I think it just depends on which way the baby is lying, also, unless you have the same midwife to measure you each time, the measurement will vary as they all seem to have different ways of measuring (that's what some of my midwives told me anyway!).

Thank you ladies. Midwife wasn't bothered and mentioned about how diff midwives measure differently but it's bothering me now.

Shameless reassurance seeking bump

Hi, some of my midwifes and the hospital consultant don't even measure me. They feel it isn't meaningful as there are so many variables ie position of baby, head engaged, person measuring etc. So I would say don't worry at all. Good Luck

i've only had my bump measured once, at 25 weeks. it was the consultant obsetrician who did it, & she didn't bat an eye when i measured 28 weeks. possibly 'cos i'd just had a growth scan which showed the baby right on the 50th centile for growth. but it goes to show how inaccurate measuring is. hope you're in labour now tinker....
