Why, oh why do all the non-wired bras look like, well, they look scary!!!

At 8 weeks my boobs are like a couple of rocks and two sizes bigger (DD ). Spend several hours looking for non-wired bras on Oxford St yesterday - shock! horror! i feel like an idiot! i suddenly realise that a smaller chst has been a blessing! - to summarise, very mixed feelings

Does anyone know where to go for comfortable bras? Pretty please?

I'm afraid that I can't bear non-wired bras, give me a good bit of scaffolding any day. I tried them when pg with ds (being a good girl and heeding the advice). Horrible, back to underwiring within days !

I bought this from topshop online and i LOVE it. It's so pretty and such a nice fit. There's lovely matching pants too.

H&M do some! I had some very cool funky coloured ones.

I've just bought 2 for 20 quid from debenhams to tide me over until I need nursing bras.

One white, one white with funky pink flowers on.

Still underwired (me in a non-wired bra? It's just not fair on anyone really), but in soft cotton with seam-free cups.

The bra-fitters I've spoken to have said that underwiring is fine so long as the fit is good and you're comfortable.

I would vote for Mothercare - I bought a pack of two in hot pink with flowers on. I think they were around 24 pounds. Have grown out of them already though...

Mole007 - it is much appreciated that you mentioned Covent Garden. I find it hard to shop online with this new body shape, seem to never guess any of the sizes right. Still does not stop me from wistfully browsing Asos.com every few days. But NO! I have the will power not to buy all those flowing tops!

You know I have read a long time ago somewhere that Marylin Monroe said that one of the secrets of her figure was that she even slept in a good fitting bra. I mean, how??? How did she manage to sleep in a bra?? It kind of hurts to sleep without one (except on my back) but trying to sleep in a bra has proved a bit of a challenge so far :-)

Found a two pack in Debenhams for only 14 pounds. Non-wired white and black. Quite soft and even with a bit of lace on the straps. Still monstrously large-looking! Like shopping bags :-)

At least 1t 14£ per two i can enjoy burning them after all that is over

Figleaves.com have a reasonable choice, including hot milk. I usually swear by Bravissimo, but been a bit disappointed by their choice this time - they had 3, 2 of which the fitter didn't even bother with, as they are apparently very unflattering, and one which I bought but which is ridiculously high - you can see it under almost every top I've got, particularly unhelpful for summer. I went for it in the end as I didn't have any others - but, having got Bravissimo to tell me my size, am going to try out some online ones.

And will probably be able to use this one as a hammock once I've got some others and presuming the weather improves!!!
