funny feeling in my leg 26wks preg

i am a hairdresser and on my feet for at least 8 1/2 hours a day by mid day my legs are starting to really ache. i get a really funny feeling on my right leg. above my knee it feels like it numb and the feeling u get when u have pins and needels but before u get the tingly feeling. and when i walk i feel like i have some thing catching my leg. i'm just worried bout it i am seeing my midwife next wk but should i see someone before this? has any one else had this feeling? i finish work in 10wks so still have some time to go and only have 3 1/2 days hol in this time. please reasure me and tell me this is normal thank you

That's very weird but I have exactly the same thing, on my right leg above my knee. I was just rubbing the area on my leg as a read your post!

I've had it for a few days and was begining to wonder if I should be worried. Sometimes it feels like something is catching my leg, almost like the sensation of a ladder ripping in tights.

I'm 25 weeks tomorrow.

I had this between 6/7 months pg and it was sciatica.

It went away again before DD was born but it was horrible for a few weeks - like little electric shocks and then sudden weakness down my right leg.

I'm not sure, I suppose it could be, it makes sense the way it's described.
My husband gets restless legs so I will ask him how it feels to him... he usually gets it in his calves though.

I imagined restless legs would be more all over sensation rather than concentrated in one area but I've never had it so I wouldn't know for sure!

it makes me feel better that some one else has the same feeling i'm not going mad yeah!!!!! i'm going to talk to my midwife about it next wk. i would think that the restless leg would be more of an all over feeling. i can just hope that it goes away by the time my pregnancey is over because it does get very painfull by lunch time and i dont want to finish work to early.

I've had it from 24 weeks (am 36+3 now) its sciatica- basically your baby is pressing on a nerve- my left leg feels numb/ wet/cold. However, it's not an all day discomfort it comes and goes and I am still able to keep active. the doctor told me just to rest- sit down when I feel it- which may be hard to do for you in your line of work. I also lie on the oposite side to the numbness to release the pressure.

Unfortunatley there is nothing doc or mw can do but mine flares up when I have been on my feet a lot.

Reagizmo- it made me feel better too, to hear someone else is getting exactly the same. I was finding it hard to describe but you managed well.
Let me know what your midwife says.. I'm not due to see mine for and other 2-3 weeks

I have this too - I get a numb patch above my right knee when I stand for too long. I've had it from mid-way into my pregnancy and I'm 34 weeks now. My GP says it's sciatica and caused the baby pressing on a nerve,. Apparently it goes away as soon as the baby is not pressing on it any more. In the meantime I have to sit down to relieve the pressure. Can you have a chair at work?
