amoxycillin and 6 weeks pregnant

been prescribed antibiotics amoxycillin for bacterial vaginosis, not taken yet as v worried re effect re early pregnancy

anyone else taken anti biotics this early on

I am pretty sure I was prescribed amoxycillin in early pregnancy with DS2 - but I still think you should check with doctor.

yes told doctor but she seemed a bit vague and doubtful about it

I had them in early pregnancy having told my doctor I was pregnant. The amoxycillin is safe, the saboteur(?) they give for antibiotic resistant strains is not.

i was prescribed amoxycillin in second trimester for terrible flu/ear and throat infection. I really queried safety with GP and he was very reassuring. I wouldnt worry if I were you. Take it for the 5 days or whatever and its really important that you get better- bacterial infection down there isnt great and no doubt you're feeling lousy.

thanks everyone, have checked out on safefetus.com and it sounds ok but not sure that it works for bv as usual ab is flagyl or one beg with metra? and dr not sure it would work
so hope that it works and not taking something that may harm babe and will not clear up infection

dr did not even want to take swab but made her, so will know by fri if ab's will work

just hoping that it clears it up as don't want to loose babe
feeling so unconfortable that pre all your posts took first tablet

Hi there i had to take amoxycillin when i had bacterial vaginosis while pregnant, obviously i was worried just as much as you, i phoned my doctors twice to double check, i also phoned the hospital too. they reasured me its totaly safe and very common to have to take it during pregnancy, and if i didnt take it it could cause problems in my pregnancy. i cant remember how early in pregnancy i was, think i was about 12 weeks. hope this helps.
