The boutiques say buy two sizes larger than I am at 11 weeks for 20 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with this?

i must decide this week on the dress. What do I do? How much bigger will I get in 9 weeks? Do I order one size or two sizes bigger/

I got married at 32 weeks!!!!
I bought a dress before I was pregnant, not expecting to be. It was one size too big and too long, I planned to have it altered.
I found a lovely dress maker who split it into a top and a skirt, with an elasticated waist, which sat on top of my bump....this eliminated the extra length!!
And as the top was already a size too big, it coped with my extra cleavage!

My advice would be to find a dress maker and have one made!

Hi,

I too would second finding a dress maker - I was not pregnant but had my dress made and although stuff like embroidery of the panels etc was done a few months before the dress itself was not put together as a whole item until 3 days before wedding. I would second having the whole two piece wedding dress as I going to the loo will be a nightmare. My dress came in two parts and I just took off the skirt to go to the loo and put it back on after - much much easier.

My dressmaker was making a dress for a pregnant bride and she had accommodated the bump by making the top invert upwards if you see what I mean - instead of down to a point like most bridal designs.

Alternatively, depending on the style you want you could go for one of these looser style foreign holiday type dresses that are all floaty and I would say 2 sizes too big should be more than enouogh - but your bump (if you have one by then that is) will show prominantly with such silky fabric.

Good Luck.
