Hello,

Can anyone shed any light here? The last couple of days i have been experiencing twinges/flinches in my abdomen whilst lying in bed. They are not sore, just a weird feeling, even my partner has felt them while touching my tummy. I know this cannot be movement as they say you dont normally get any kicking etc until at least 18wks.

Any ideas or experience on what this could be?

Thanks

hi, it could be just your muscles and ligaments starting to relax and stretch ready for the expansion to come. i had some discomfort around this stage and my doctor and midwife assured me it is totally normal and necessary, there is a hormone released around this time to help this area get ready to get bigger!

a quick call to your MW should put your mind at rest.
