hpt was fainter this morning - does this mean the end?

Bit worried here [understatement]...did a hpt at the end of last week and got a faint but distinct line. Did another hpt two days later and the line was slightly darker than the first test. Did yet another hpt this morning (making a gap of three days between today's test and the second test) and it was fainter than the very first test of late last week (which was taken before af was due).

Should I be preparing for the worst?

Any insight appreciated, if possible.

Were they different tests. Even if not I have had lines show up lighter later in pg. I would not worry. Also did you use first morning urine. The test could also be diluted because its hot and you may have been drinking more water.

Thanks for your reply. The brand is the same in each case. The only slightly different thing was that I had to wee last night about midnight (after being asleep from about 10pm) and then a bloody magpie woke me up this morning at 5am, which is when I did the test...I did wonder if the wee may have been a bit weak. I will test again tomorrow if the wee is from 'all night' IYSWIM.

i agree with slushy, could be down to the brand of test and/or concentration of hcg in urine.

my thoughts would be to maybe grab a clearblue digital test if you can afford/get hold of it. use it first thing in the morning.
