Has anyone ever got pregnant with the coil?

Not the mirena one but the copper one?

My mum. I was the result.

I'm hoping it was a fluke, as the copper coil is the contraceptive I hate the least, and I can't be doing with hormones.

Yes my friend did. She had it removed at her 12 week scan

I have a friend who did get pregnant with the coil.
They scanned immediately as the pregnancy had an increased risk of being ectopic.
She was given the option to have it removed immediately, with a risk of miscarriage within 72 hours, or to leave the coil and continue the pregnancy with a risk of miscarriage throughout.

She had it removed and the pregnancy was succuessful, full term, and resulted in a healthy dd (now 4yo)

However, most of my friends have a coil in one form or another and this is the only incidence of failure I have heard of.I myself have a copper coil which has been in for 8 years with no problems

Had a copper coil for 11years with no pgs. Fell pg less than three wks after having it out though.
