When can anything be seen on scan? - previous mc

Had 2 mc last year, am 5 and a half weeks now and know if i ring epac they will probably give me a scan, is it to early yet, will they be able to see anthing?

They will def be able to see a sac and if everything looks normal, if they do an internal scan. If you wait a week or so, then they will probably be able to see a heartbeat. I went at 6+4 and saw a heartbeat but only just! HTH. Good luck x

I had an early scan at 6+2 and saw the heartbeat. I think at 5 weeks they can see the fetal pole and yolk sac, but I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along.

I had a scan at 6 weeks and it looked like an egg with a little heartbeat.

6 weeks is the earliest I think but if I were you I'd wait until 8 as even though I had one at 6 weeks I had to have another at 8 weeks - it seems to be much more likely to stay viable after 8 weeks for some reason so the 6 weeks one didn't really reassure me. Hugs - that wait is horrible isn't it?

Hiya, sorry of ur losses hun.

I went for an early scan as i miscarried last year so when i got pregnant again they offered a early scan i was under 6 weeks and altho very very small cud see a little flicker on the screen babys heartbeat all in all it measured 1.7mm so tiny but cud see it.

hi mummytopebs i've had two mc's and epau could'nt see anything until i was 7 weeks .
I did go up at about 5 and a half to 6 weeks and they saw nothing except a thickened womb lining which made me panic and worry until the following week ! then they could only see sack and yolk . i was 8 weeks until they saw a bean appear with a heartbeat.
Sometimes if you go too early it causes more worry than if you wait until 7 weeks like they suggest .
I'm sure everything will be fine keep postive for that little bean inside and get through the 6 week mark before you take a peak

Thanks for your words of wisdom i think i might wait till this time next week x I am going away at the weekend anyway so that will make the time pass quicker - i hate wishing time away but wish i could fast forward 6 weeks

I think you spend a lot of your time pg wanting to hit the fast forward button. I was desperate to get the baby to the viable stage as it gave me huge reassurance. Good luck xx
