Any ideas or tips how I encourage the baby to move?

Mine was breech at 36 weeks and turned herself. Apparently being on your hands and knees with your bum in the air helps. I didn't do that and baby turned naturally. I think a lot of babies do sort themselves out.
If still breech by 37 weeks they may want to do the 'ecv' which i where the dr tries to turn the baby so get on your knees!!!

Thanks Tess.... ecv - ouch? I was prodded and poked enough yesterday at 33 weeks!

the ecv is apparently uncomfortable (some find it painful) I actually went to the process but the scan showed baby had turned. They inject you to relax your uterus and the dr will try to twist the baby in to position through your tummy.
Try not to worry at all, you have got ages to go and nature takes its course in most cases. It is also possible to have a breach baby vaginally (tho I was not prepared to go for it but it is personal choice)
Good luck I am sure you will be fine....!

Try Hypnosis - strange but true.

Mt DD was breech from around 30 weeks. I refused an ECV at 37 weeks and was booked in for a ELCS at 39 weeks. Day before op we had a pre-op appointment and scan and she was still breech. At 9am the next morning as i lay on the operating table they did a scan to look at her position and she was head down - so it definitely isn't too late for your LO to turn. They had said it was very unlikely that my DD would turn as she was very, very tall (over 100 centile) and 8lb 5oz but she certainly found a way.

My baby was breech at your stage but fortunately turned (I had no idea it had turned).

I was advised that the ECV can be more successful with second and subsequent pregnancies. If the baby's bottom has engaged, pretty much no chance of success.

A friend who's a GP with a special interest in obstetrics just wrinkled her nose and advised me to go straight to C-section. She thought it would be highly uncomfortable!

At 33 weeks you should probably not be too concerned. My DD was breech and I had a C section; it wasn't picked up until week 38. My DS was breech until about 34 weeks and then turned himself. I was about to take the moxibustion route, but I think you need to wait until 36 weeks for this.
I recommend using a birthing ball at this point: I sat on mine every evening doing my exercises for two hours a night with DS and it may have encouraged him to turn. Don't slouch in a sofa; always sit straight with legs apart and leaning a bit forward. Sit on the ball and rotate your hips. good luck.

My little one was breech until 34/35 weeks. I got so het up about it! I did scrub the bathroom floors on my hands and knees and she is now cephalic (I am 38 weeks now), so try not to worry too much. Most of them turn

Yeah, probably right actually as I can't really remember, but I do remember being told if you have it too early there is a liklihood it'll just spin back again. I do think 32 weeks is too early as it may not have settled in its final position by then.

deffo time to turn..had my scan this afternoon and DC4 has turned and is now head down despite yesterday her being breech..good luck
