I always used to look at these posts and think 'how hard can it be to read a test'!! I now know!

We only started trying last month and 11mo dd took 18 months to conceive hence Im unsure.

I did a boots one and a cheapy from Ebay and both are very faint positives. AF was due yesterday and I have had a headache for 3 days.

Do you think its worth getting a load more tests or waiting a few more days before re testing? Thanks

You should wait a few days but if you can't (understandably) why don't you try a first response ?

I did an ebay cheapie on a saturday and the line was so faint I had to hold it to the window to see it () and then convinced myself I was fooling myself (had been trying 2 years by this point). Then next day just had a nagging feeling and bought a first response - the darkest line came up within seconds.

The faint positive is now 11 weeks old .

Thanks! Hopefully I will be the same. The boots test has a stronger line then the cheapy but still faint!

good luck

I did a Boots cheapie - very faint line. But a clearblue digital gave me my BFP the next morning. Keeping it all crossed for you x

sockmonster · 27/05/2009 12:58

A faint line shows that you are pg- there would be no line if no hcg present. Congratulations!

I was told that a very faint line is still a positive result - congrats!! - and we still did about 7 tests before we believed it... had only been trying 4 months I was alos told that its almost impossible for a 'false positive' as the line, even if faint, can only show up from higher HCG. the clearblue tests are good as they will also show you how far along and the readout is really clear and easy to read.

YanknCock · 27/05/2009 14:03

a line is a line! (from someone who's seen loads of negative cheapies)

DH wouldn't believe it until I got a clearblue digital though.

pinky78 · 27/05/2009 14:18

hi there u cant go wrong with the digital id never go bk 2 normal test and they tell u how many weeks there more expensive but well worth it there £9.70 at asda

laurawantsababy · 27/05/2009 14:49

Thanks!! I am hoping its right. I am shocked though, we have only just started ttc and it happened straight away - Dd was 18 months of trying.

I have ordered a digital so I will update tomorrow

Sorry to crash your thread here just wanted to share my story...

I used eBay cheapy test when AF was due (actually on the day) and it showed the teensiest faintest line ever but a lines a line. The hormone has to be detected to create a line at all, however faint.

I hope this helps cos I remember how frustrated I was when I tested and it was difficult to tell.

Hope it really is a BFP!!!!

laurawantsababy · 28/05/2009 08:33

Kaylo - Did you re test and get a better line? My other tests should be delivered today. AF is still late and I have cramps today like when I was pg with dd so fingers crossed

Hi Laura how are you?
I did re-test a week later and got a stronger line, I figured there was no harm in waiting a week (even though I was bouncing with giddiness everyday with every cramp, upset tummy, funny taste in mouth...)

Either AF was gonna catch me or above symptoms would get worse, I couldn't wait longer than a week though...suspense was killing me!

Got my fingers crossed for 2 obvious lines for you hun! I reeeeeally hope its a BFP!!

Kaylo · 28/05/2009 08:42

p.s 'faint line' is now almost 3years old

laurawantsababy · 28/05/2009 09:44

Oooh, thanks Kaylo. I will have to re test today I think! I cant wait a week
