Just got out of bed as DS keeps rolling ontop of me, and I've got itchy prickly horrible skin all over my body. Anyone else get this? I also hate our mattress, which is utter Ikea crap and I swear I'm going to go out tomorrow and buy the best we can afford, nice firm sprung one. Any suggestions?
Just having a moan really.
Sleep at this stage just gets worse by the night, and still got 8 weeks to go...
grumble grumble....

Mention the itchyness to your midwife as it can be due to cholestasis (problem with Bile that can happen when preg).Probably not this but worth a check.

Give your MW a call forst thing tomorrow.

There is a pretty serious condition called obsetric choelestasis which causes severe itching all over.

Please get this checked out, my SIL had this with 2nd dc, it was very serious. Turned out she had it with first dc too but didn't realise.

Do you have a rash as well? Could be PUPPS which can be very annoying....not harmful, but a right pain. If it is, your midwife might suggest a steroid cream to help. For PUPPS or just general itchiness, which is common in pregnancy, an oatmeal bath can be soothing as well.

Do ask about cholestasis as the others have mentioned, especially if your hands and feet are very itchy...a common symptom.

How are things today?

I had obstetric cholestasis - your liver may be having a bit of a reaction to the pregnancy - just a blood test needed to diagnose - the remedy for the condition is to deliver the baby approx. 3 weeks early (was in my case, was fine). Then everything is fine.

Hope you're ok Justlook.

Just - have you got a rash? Am suffering hideously from PUPPPs, so would love to chat about it if you are about cos I can't find ANYONE else suffering from it.

With regard to OC, have been assured by GP/MW that symptoms start as very itchy palms and soles of feet, darkened urine, pale poo, yellowing of eye whites.
