fancy doing some ante natal classes as its 7 years since i had my last child ,i think the nhs ones tend to be aimed at first timers and nct offer a short refresher course .

Hiya - I've just done a short nct course aimed at second time+ mums, if that's what you're thinking about? It was vaguely useful, in that it got me thinking about how to manage 2 kids rather than one - but I'm guessing that all the focus on managing baby + toddler won't apply to you if its been 7 years (slightly , will yours be old enough to babysit?! ). But there was also a focus on refreshing the basic stages of labour/pain relief, local hospital protocol etc, which you might find useful if its been a while, and hospital procedures have probably changed quite a bit in the last few years. It was quite a small group, so they focused on what we wanted to focus on IYSWIM, so if you have any particular issues, I'm sure they would get addressed.

Anyhow, my main aim was to meet some more mums in the area, rather than get more knowledge as such (you can get that here!) - which I think is 50% of the aim of the group really!

I did one and I found it very useful. I had had no. 1 only 2 years previously but found I had forgotten a lot of the basic stuff about what were good positions for labour. It also gave me the confidence to go for a home birth, which turned out to be a completely fantastic experience.
