Were they your friends first children. You are less likely to end with a section second time round. Also premature babies often have a section as they dont seem to handle the contractions very well. I am sure you will be fine they probably had different consultants anyway.

I 'planned' (haha) a homebirth as I was terrified of hospitals. And guess what? I ended up having an EMCS. It was actually fine and I recovered very quickly. A couple of friends of mine had the same experiences. It was the first baby for all of us and strangely we're all terrified of the thought of vaginal births now for subsequent DCs!

Haven't seen the news so not sure what their angle is? Is there a particular reason you're worried (other than the obvious i.e. it's surgery and most people want as intervention-free birth as possible/desirable)?

im jus worried, they both ended up with c sections, and it could happen to me... i hate hospital, surgery, and also i have a dd to look after.

I second slushy - if your first birth was okay, it's less likely. Try not to fret too much.

If you really are worried is there a mlu near you or could you have a home birth.

mama2leah · 26/05/2009 10:23

homebirth not n option, im going to a birthing centre which is attached to the hospital...both these friends were there...oh yes we all have the same consultant.
wil try not to worry...
