Been buying on-line as i have not wanted to face shops or spend too much (and its hard work finding leg sizes to fit). Bought some items from ebay, neither of which fit. I am normally a size 8-10 (usually closer to 8). currently in this pregnancy i have put on not very much fat yet but have been sick alot which is now better so that might change (but not enough to get into the moda trousers I am sure) although i have a nice bump growing. Most of my trousers are too small, but not by much. (although I have a pair of Donna Karen size 10 hipster jeans which still fit lovely everywhere, and a pair of Animal hipster cord flares which still fit, size 10)

I bought a pair of Moda size 10 maternity trousers, they are like a tent on me, not just found the bump, but round the backside and thighs. There is no way they will fit me in this pregnancy, apart from maybe be the bump near the end.

I bought a pair of Next size 8 maternity boyfriend trousers, too tight around the crotch (you know, camel toe ), fits everywhere else very snuggly indeed, just but no room at all for expansion.

Can you tell me what sizes you needed for the following brand trousers and whether this was different to your pre-pregnancy size, as they all seem so different I don't know what to buy and don't want to waste any more money.

Topshop
Next
Red Herring
Seraphine
M&P
Gap

Any others you recommend I buy, thanks!

I was a size 10 pre pg and have to say that I found M&P came up VERY small on me, I tried on some size 12 trousers in there and they didn't even come up over my thighs

oh dear!!

m&p really small. most of my mat wear is size 12, but I had a pair of size 14 jeans from m&p and they were nowhere near big enough

sockmonster · 25/05/2009 18:52

buy them!

pavlovthesmugcat · 26/05/2009 14:46

Dorothy Perkins - too big, too small, same as pre-pregnancy? I seen a pair for sale on ebay.... (i have so far, bought a top, thats it!).

I thought M&P were on the big side tbh.

pavlovthesmugcat · 26/05/2009 14:51

Oh no! Someone else said they were on the small side! I might have to nip up to exeter and try some on....

DP - about the same as pre pregnancy

pavlovthesmugcat · 26/05/2009 15:01

Oh good, I shall buy them!

I would agree that the M&P jeans I've bought are more on the big side as well. The pre pregnancy size do fit but there's more fabric around the bum/thighs etc. than I would ideally like

blondieminx · 27/05/2009 00:04

oooh pavlov (love your name btw!), please report back on purchases when they arrive - in particlar can you post and say how long the "long" maternity stuff is coming up? Have 35" inside leg here, am dreading buying maternity trousers!

Have got a couple of bits of ebay already but only skirts and tops. Haven't even seen any suitable looking trousers

pavlovthecat · 27/05/2009 11:52

Once I actually win a bid I will report back with verdict!!
