SPD - 'Magic' Knickers!

I have been advised by my midwife to purchase 'magic' knickers as they will improve my SPD symptoms. They are the supportive panel slimming knickers, that are designed to disguise lumps and bumps. Apparently wearing the shorts version will hold my hips together and therefore lessen the pain. By no means is this a cure but apparently it will provide some relief.

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this advice and if so, are there any brands of magic knickers that could be recommended?

I had a look in Matalan and bought their version of tummy shaper shorts but they really haven't made much difference. The Sloggi version were only available in knickers, not shorts so I guessed they wouldn't support my hips.

I suffered terribly with SPD in my first pregnancy. Currently I'm 14 weeks into my second and the symptoms are back again. I'm happy to try anything that may work!

I'd not heard that advice, but have been known to say the crappy tubi-grip stuff the physio gave me for SPD is less supportive than a decent pair of Spanx!

The only concern for me would be the level of struggling I have to go through to get magic knickers on. It is normally a tiring event akin to stuffing a whale into a bin bag. I'm sure I'd pull a muscle or something and make my pelvis/back worse!
