Are you taking a multi-vitamin? Makes wee bright bright yellow!

barbarapym · 24/05/2009 20:52

Are you taking multivits? They can do strange things to the colour of your wee!

My wee was a most alarming bright yellow in the first weeks of my first pregnancy, how much I drunk made no difference. No idea why it happened, it stopped as suddenly as it started...

slushy06 · 24/05/2009 20:54

My pee has been either luminous yellow or a cloudy orange all through I was really worried but had uti tests done and mine came back clear to. I am now 33 weeks. Its actually become a bit of a hobby what colour today.

Thank you for this thread! I was just telling DH yesterday about my recent luminous wee and he thought I'd lost the plot. Reading this makes me realise that it started when I changed multi-vit to pro-natal conception. Now I can cross that off my things to worry about!

bevlin · 27/05/2009 20:02

Hi fellow yellow wee's. This is due to the B vitamins in your multi vits. Actually it's a particular B Vit, possibly B6. The body absorbs the B's it needs and wee's the rest out ultra violet yellow. Harmless but alarming first time. I discovered before I was PG and my nutritionist friend reasured me it was not the near by pylons!

Spaceman · 27/05/2009 20:09

Are you drinking that vile Beroka multivitamin drink or whatever it is with sunset yellow colouring in it? If so there's your answer.

SoupDragon · 27/05/2009 20:10

Agree with Vitamin B.
