Have any fellow MS sufferers gone off water?

I have always loved water and now it just tastes icky to me. Could there be a worse time to feel like that about the most vital fluid? [chandler inflection emoticon]

Am gently supping on a lucozade isotonic but is not practical because i only like it if it's very cold so have to keep it in the fridge at all times. And the fridge is about 12 miles away.

sigh

I don't like water either, but I don't like anything else either so I just have to keep forcing myself to sip little bits all day.

Crunching ice cubes isn't so bad as long as they don't taste of freezer.

sifuentes · 23/05/2009 16:18

Exactly but all mine DO taste of freezer.
boak
And why has time stood still just when i need it to speed up?!

I am so with you. I am yet to find something that I can drink that doesn't make me retch. Or anything I can eat. It's a miserable time.

chaya5738 · 23/05/2009 19:54

Have you tried sparkling water? That really helped me with my morning sickness.

Lulumama · 23/05/2009 19:57

very cold ginger ale helped me

cupcakesinthesnow · 23/05/2009 19:59

I went from drinking a good 2-3 litles of water a day to only being able to drink water flavoured with lemon or lime cordial when pregnant both times. FUnnily enough I get like this when Ihave bad PMT as well.

sifuentes · 23/05/2009 22:13

How funny. I just came back on to post that I have just discovered water with lemon juice in it!
I am hardly gulping it down but it doesn't make me retch.
now I just have to buy some new ice trays i think. I just want all drinks to be icey cold these days.

yup same here, i had to have lemon slices in it, or ribena, or summer fruit or some orange juice, just a little bit to flavour it.
Have you tried really cold water as well?
I also had tonic water and orange juice for a while.
I also boiled water and put a couple of fresh mint leaves in, let it cool or stick it in the freezer and drink it really cold.

Eventually I could drink water again, but didnt matter how much i drank it it never quenched my thirst, i had 3 litres of it a day...

Thanks for the tips. I think i might treat myself to some san pellegrino but otherwise definitely flavoured. So funny isn't it.
Is june09 your due date? if so good luck with your labour and everything!

Issy42 · 26/05/2009 17:02

Hi Sif - one of my colleagues had such bad ms she was nearly hospitalised and could only get fluids through eating ice lollies. Is the mum cooking for you cure still working or has she gone now?

sifuentes · 27/05/2009 11:29

Alas have been returned to the DP who is not much of a nurse!

Ice lollies rock. But oh for a Mr Freeze ice pop. Nowhere in my 'hood sells them.
